Indeed. Don't forget he was our young player of the year last year and quite a few folks would have kept him here. Good luck to him.

Personally don't think Daddy Simpson will last the season there. That could mean Baby Simpson is left in limbo a bit like he was here

Having seen how s**t they were on saturday they can do worse than play simpson:0 I'm inclined to agree, tbh. With hindsight, and having seen what's arrived in his place, I think releasing Simmo Jnr was the right move. However, he's not too bad a player and Stockport's wing-play was utter garbage on Saturday. At least Jake can cross, which is more than the home fans were treated to last weekend.

I would have taken a bet on that. Trials here and there and where does he finish up?
I've nothing against Jake. His Dad said he wasn't a winger, so why play him there?

Why the gloating? Makes sense for the club and the player. Good luck to them.

To be fair, its only a father looking after the welfare of his son. Who, on here, would not do exactly the same if in the same position? I would. It happens in all walks of life, not just football, and i dare say some on here have done exactly the same thing in their line of work. Young Simmo's not a bad player, maybe he will come good or maybe he will find his level in the lower Leagues, only time will tell. If you manage a big club, then nepotism is far harder to justify. Can't see Ferguson taking that route! but then again he has millions of pounds at his disposal, not like Simmo.

Did anyone read the interview a few weeks back with Simpson Snr saying he would NOT be signing Jake for Stockport?
I am sure the link was put on here.
Says alot........

Good Luck to them all,
I thought the Stockport keeper was actually half decent, it was the back four that let him down. That said Glennon is Stockport born and will provide decent competition.
As for Simpson Jnr, he was at least a trier and a winner of the young player of the year here last season, - just like his father a hard worker down the wing, and having seen Stockports wide play last week, they could do a lot lot worse

I read that today, (think it was on the Football League site but can't find it now.) Only thinking earlier that it was a surprise that Matt Glennon hadn't found a team yet so somewhat surprised that Simmo has signed Jake but not such a shock to see that he has got Glennon in.

Good timing for Jake, as I believe he would have received a unbelivable amount of stick had he played against us last Saturday.....

Simmo Jnr was a trier but even when with us I said he was a severly limited player
Good luck to the lad and its certainly no grudge against him or his dad. I just dont think he is good enough for a team with promotion ambitions

Because his son is clearly not enough for league football and Daddy is simply giving him a job.
Glad Simpson has gone really am.

A very desperate signing IMO. Jake was a trier but he lacked quality. For a winger he's very slow.
I would've thought PS would've learnt from his experience here. SCFC are really going to struggle this season.

Stockport are obviously struggling so its makes sense for them - he probably won't be their worst player and should get some games.

Makes sense from a tactical view for Paul. You shouldn't be so critical of Simpson & Son, they did alright here (sort of) and they'll do alright at Stockport.

Did ok with us. Whether he's seen as good enough for league two by any other manager's bar his dad is debatable though.
