Won't miss it too much as:- a. As I actually GO to matches on saturday,I don't fit into Sky's ideal TV fan bracket. b. Once you'e watched for it for 5 mins, you've no need to watch it for the rest of the day, unless you have the mind of a goldfish. c.I find it a strain to watch any TV which suddenly lapses into ad breaks. Now I'm being asked to PAY for the privilege of watching adverts every 15 minutes? you would think it would have an impact on the amount it charges to buy adverts. i ditched my sky years ago when i found that the news is usually quicker on tinternet. sky sucks

Exactly amsterdammer There missing out on the chance to hype up their own channels and even pay per view events. Meanwhile, what are they actually going to achieve by moving it? Is anyone seriously now going to increase their subscription just to get this channel??! I doubt it! Something else will surely fill the market if there is one. And the soccer saturday's part already has an alternative in the bbc service which doesn't have the annoying adverts. You answered most of the issues with the last word : ADVERTS! In this country you HAVE to have a licence to view a TV which pays for the BBC. If there was no licence and you either had to subscribe to Sky or the BBC then people would have a better choice.

I had the misfortune to catch the Beeb's Final Score (or whatever it is called during match time). It was totally inept in comparison to Sky. They just kept rabbiting on about Premiership games and totally ignored the rolling scores as they came in. Jeff Stelling always gives you the latest stats as the scores go through, often together with some kind of levity.

Sky Sports is the best for live score updates. Final Score doesn't even compete, SKY is a lot more light-hearted which is much better than looking at Ray Stubbs boring face.
Jeff and Kammy for me any day.

Is it coincidence that within a few months of BT Vision getting the rights to show Sky Sports channels the big wigs at Sky spit the dummy out and take SSN off freeview? I don’t think so.

You must have a fault on your TV, adverts seem much more frequent than that on mine. I always think of it as the channel that shows programmes between adverts.

Not quite sure why anyone subscribes to sky anymore as you can get all the sport, including sky sports news, for free on the Internet. It's quite fun hearing man united v Liverpool commentary in Spanish

Well that sucks.
Already have Sky ofcouse but I enjoy just waking up in the morning and watching SNN for half an hour or so before I get out of bed and go downstairs.I'm not prepared to pay a tenner a month for sky multi-room just for that privilege though.

I'm all for it.... I have the full Sky Subscription with multi room and HD so when I'm paying out over £60+ per month (I know its my choice) I should have the prevelige of being able to access something exclusive that people who don't subscribe can't get. Like Shrews Web, I choose not to subscribe so I have to accept I can't access Shrews World. However, Sky Sports News is basically a constant rolling advert for Sky Sports, meaning more will consider sucscribing. And while being free on Freeview, advertising companies would be willing to fork out more for advertising slots due to an increased audience. Despite this happening in the hope of more profit, Sky are going to loose out in the long run...
