Did I read somewhere recently that Holloways team talk at Wembley was so inspirational that it reduced at least 1 player to tears, such was the passion, inspiration and motivation - Say what you want but Ian Holloway is a top man and the Premier League will be a far, far better place with him as part of it.
I really do hope they upset the apple cart and spread a little egg on the faces of some of the so called TV pundits who have written them off ever since the final whistle blew at Wembley back in May of this year.

2-0 up at Wigan so far, not a bad start so far

3-0 up at Wigan, seems they might just have a chance or are Wigan prime candidates for relegation?

Wigan are playing disgracefully but this doesnt take away the fact Blackpool have played decent considering their away from home. Come on you tangerines

Might aswell relegate wigan already. Seriously how is martinez still employed?
What a shocking result that is, fair play to blackpool. They just keep doing it.

Lools like wigan are going to be much the same this season as they were last. Can't wait for MOTD and Holloways interview after the match

Terrible defending by Wigan, according to Phil Thompson on Soccer Saturday. Will be interesting to see how long Martinez lasts, good manager in the Championship but isn't Premier League standard. Not yet.
Well done Blackpool.

Even after today I expect them to go down with WBA and Wigan.

A great start for them but remember the start Burnley had last season, plus Hull the season before who then only avoided relegation.
Going to be a long season for them I think (and Wigan)

Ian Holloway can keep them up if anyone can. I loved his quote in the Guardian yesterday - "Good enough for the Premier League? No. Championship? No." With that spirit and approach, they have a real chance and I'm supporting them all the way.
Whatever the outcome, I hope they and their fans relish every minute of it.

I know very well that one swallow doesn't make a summer. But, have any of the posters who have confidently stated "no chance" mellowed enough to concede they may stand a chance of surviving?
Also, have those who proclaimed relegation with a record low points total changed their minds?

Also, have those who proclaimed relegation with a record low points total changed their minds? No, they'll still finish bottom with a record low points total. Will be lucky to get another win before October. Are playing Arsenal next week.

Also, have those who proclaimed relegation with a record low points total changed their minds? Burnley started well last season - I still think Blackpool will go down, but I didn't say anything about record low points total I think Derby gave up, and I don't see Blackpool doing that - Derby's points total will probably be a record low for many years to come

To be fair Scooter you just expressed an informed opinion that you thought they would go down.
I understand and respect that people will form such an opinion given the gulf between the Championship and Premier League.
My follow up is aimed purely at those who have completely written them off with a 'not in cats hell chance.'
I know it will be tough, but there is something about Holloway. Like Monkee, I said Stoke would survive because of how highly I rate Tony Pulis and survive they did.
Blackpool play a different brand of football to Stoke but they have the same kind of will and desire. Reputations mean nothing and they will be at Arsenal from the off next week in the same way they did to Wigan.
However, as I stated on the other thread, I fully expect Arsenal to win comfortably next week as I think Blackpool are meeting them too early in the season. The new players need time to adjust to the Holloway way of doing things.
But Blackpool will upset a few sides this season that people won't be expecting and I believe they will be ok.

Derby's 11 points is the lowest season's total in the Premiership.
Blackpool have 7 points from 4 games, three of which have been away by the way.
Do those who thought they would 'comfortably' surpass that which to re-evaluate now?
