Enjoying this thread Seems as if a couple of Bulls fans have really taken the bait. Wonder if GP will be proved to be right about them using loan players to gain short term success last season......... time will tell

So, as they are in a higher league............obviously better than us(just unlucky at the moment) that must then mean as they are better they have scored more goals than us in the better league Yes?

Enjoying this thread Seems as if a couple of Bulls fans have really taken the bait. Same here Paul. The worrying aspect is IantheBull saying size of crowds don't matter. He really does not have a clue about the salary cap. I think Hereford have to average 4,000 this season to fall into line. Still two home games coming up against local rivals should push the average up. But will it push the points total up

This thread is just a bit hilarious coming from a team 1 league lower than us it's just at the moment there is nothing to prove.
Not a pi** take but all what has been said about us still goes back to us at the moment being at a higher level, 0 points true but 3 games have only been played.
And believe me the standard is far better than league 2 , just a warning if you do get promotion what you will be up against.

Yes Ian but we have the backing to BUY not loan players that can sustain our eventual rise through the leagues, and on to world domination via the Champions League.
We OWN our Stadium, are considering expanding it already with more seats and corporate hospitality.
You have a ramshackled old stadium which is so old it's odd that the stands do not have thatched roofs on them.
Wether the standard in your league is better will not matter to us as next season we will have the players to push on towards the Championship.

Well all this attendances, ground, finance, doesn't appear to have held us back.

Well all this attendances, ground, finance, doesn't appear to have held us back. Not yet, although when you suffer successive relegations (like Wrexham, Rushden & Torquay have all done) you'll soon understand. Hereford United - nowt more than a decent non-league club.

I get the impression from reading Ianthebull's childish comments, that the only thing that matters in his sad little world, is finishing above us, no matter whichever league we are in. He sounds just like a Chester fan. Thinking about it, they have a lot in common with Hereford - crap ground, even crappier attendances, hand to mouth existance and a history of very rarely finishing higher than us. Let them enjoy it while it lasts, because history shows that when the bubble bursts, it does not come around again for at least a decade.

No get it right hereford united league 1, and iam sure when we do start a decline you will not be far behind.
Just wondered why you still remain in league 2 after your lucky playoff win over aldershot. 5 years now i think ...progress..... still guess you are still a league club

Ian, just something to think about in terms of the quality of opposition in League 1. We have already faced League 1 Carlisle in the Carling Cup. True we lost, just, but we matched them at least (their words not mine). Now how did Carlisle get on at home to Bristol Rovers in the first game of the season Face facts, your team just isnt good enough at the moment against any opposition

In the words of Carlisle boss John Ward, We would comfortably hold our own in League 1. Will he also say that about the slum dwellers?

Ian the Bull - Your ground in scrap value is greater than the sum worth of all your players.

Who here remembers that totally cringeworthy 'if you all hate Shrewsbury clap your hands' business during their visit to Oteley Road? I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Feel free to share your favourite Hereford United moments below.

League fixtures are harder than the cup.

So, we’ve already established that Hereford have shit support, a shit ground, a shit team and more importantly a shit future. However, there’s something you’re all forgetting.
Their forum! What the hell is that about? It’s genuinely one of the poorest messageboards I’ve ever laid eyes upon. A poorly designed, bland B&A replica with about 10 members and a new page per thread after about 5 replies.
God only knows how many pages this thread would have were it on the imaginatively-named ‘Bullsbanter’. I reckon it would be in between the 25-30 page range quite easily.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Thank god for B&A!

Now most of them have ****ed off back to the clubs that OWN them!!
Next time i drive through your s**thole of a place, i'll leave a few cushions, so you don't hurt your arses when u drop out of the league!!
Make sure you give us a wave on your way down past us, as you drop out of the league AGAIN! How long was it last time- 12/13 years?!
At least you'll have Forest Green to play!!

Also, what happens when Turner calls it a day. Remember the guy is in his 60s, and I believe that when he retires, he wants to move back to the Shrewsbury area. Will he sell to the highest bidder, or more to the point, will there be any bidders? He may be better to try to sell now, before the spiral towards obscurity takes effect.

League fixtures are harder than the cup. You can get shock results in league and cup...... you competed against clubs from a higher league in the cup last season on the basis of having players from higher leagues in your team. Geoff is doing a great job at winding you up but he is right. You have the set up of a Conference club and that is where you will gravitate back to unless you find a way of generating more income. The chances of a club doing a Wimbledon these days is very remote but if like Wigan, Hull, Doncaster and Shrewsbury ( ) you can develop your club financially, then your long term prospects will look a lot better.

If Hereford once again fall into the non-league abyss, I dare say they'll never return. Although natural order would be restored - as clearly with Herefords stadium, infrastructure and attendances they do not belong in the hallowed football league. Shrewsbury Town FC - the envy of Hereford United.

Hereford shot to national prominence in 1972 when, as a Southern League team, they knocked top-flight Newcastle United out of the FA Cup.[1] In the same season they were elected to the football League, and reached the old Second Division by 1976. But after a rapid decline into the Fourth Division, where they spent nineteen seasons, they were eventually relegated on the final day of the 1996-97 season with serious financial troubles IanfullofBull, you bang on about us being in League 2 for 4 years. As you can see above, your tinpot outfit spent 19, ( yes-NINETEEN) years in that very same League!! .gif[/img] But then instead of moving up, oops, you dropped out of the football League!! ;D ;D And then it you 9 (yes- NINE) attempts to get back in the football League!! ;D How many attempts did it take the Shrews to get back into the football League........... ............Wait a moment, it's a bit hard this one.......... ............i can't quite remember..............can anyone help me out here...........oh yeah, it's coming back to me now................. FIRST TIME!! ;D ;D As for your so called support, or should that be lack of it!! 8-)Between 1972 and 1977, during the club's rise to the Second Division, home attendances averaged almost 8,000 per game. The support fell during the 1980s with the average home attendance under 3,000, the exception being the 1984-85 season when the club finished fifth. It was not until the latter Conference years that attendances improved, with the 2003-04 season seeing the average home attendance rise to 3,704. The following season saw the figure drop to just over 3,000 while in the 2005-06 season, despite the club successfully gaining promotion, the figure was 2,791. For the 2006-07 season the club had an average home league attendance of 3,327. With the exception of 2003-04, this is the highest average attendance since the 1984-85 season (3,881). The club has rarely enjoyed capacity crowds at Edgar Street in recent years, having last seen a five-figure home attendance in 1990. Since the reduction of the Edgar Street capacity in line with the Taylor Report the highest home attendance has been 8,953 in 1994 - a Coca Cola Cup Second Round match against Nottingham Forest. The highest league home attendance was 8,532, which was the relegation decider against Brighton & Hove Albion in 1997. Come back when you've got a club capable of sustaining itself, without having to rely largely on handouts from other clubs!! We have more talent in our reserves!!
