Not a TWOTS - I wouldn't dare but Diagouraga will snub our offer for a move to Brentford in the next few days... we're a second choice if the Bees don't find the readies.

I thought Brentford weren't willing to pay the asking price for him?

Oh dear, we're not being very successful in terms of our first choices signing this summer. Hope Turner has something good lined up.

We do have to be realistic though, we are a league 2 club who finished mid table last season. I think Turner has performed well so far, with good steady signings who are honest pro's. We arn't always going to get our number 1 target, but i would like to see another nippy goal poacher and a pacey winger at the very least.

Turner still at it waiting till the last minute misses a lot but does get the odd one i think your gonna need something decent or you are in for a struggle.

i think your gonna need something decent or you are in for a struggle. I very much doubt it. We have a strong squad already. Just a bit of fine tuning.

I think we have some history in not being able to land our number 1 target, I'm looking at you Messrs Benson and O'Flynn, although neither signing would have got me on the edge of my seat.

From that article: " Toumani Diagouraga is in talks with Hereford, Shrewsbury and Brentford, so he has a decision to make as to where he would like to go from those three options," said Fry.Which presumably means that all 3 clubs have met whatever valuation Fry has put on Diagouraga... So, Brentford it is then...

Director of Football Barry Fry revealed to skysports.com that the midfielder has a number of options to choose from, including two of his former clubs."Toumani Diagouraga is in talks with Hereford, Shrewsbury and Brentford, so he has a decision to make as to where he would like to go from those three options," said Fry.

Could do with a positive recommendation given to Diagouraga from Hibbert and Langmead to help seal thie deal - this would be a great and exciting signing if it comes off

A lot of Hereford fans also seem to think that whilst Diagouraga and Ainsworth hold the utmost respect for GT, they seem to dislike Trewick, which may throw another spanner in the works.

What always makes me laugh, is that players say they signed because they were "impressed" with the manager/ambition/stadium, etc. What a ruck of s**t. When did you join a company because you were "impressed" with the staff canteen? Exactly. It's the £££££££££££££.

Too true JT. Noted Matt Harrold wheel that one in his interview this week.
As mentioned above it seems that all three clubs have offered what Barry Fry has asked for fee-wise. So that means that....
a) we could be getting a bargain or b) Hereford have been raiding some poor sods piggy bank and could be on the brink of signing a player for serious money (Posh spent 200k on him).
Perhaps having a six fingered accountant has it's perks afterall....

What sort of midfielder is he? In the mould of Patrick Viera according to Dave Hunt - said we'd love him if he came here

does look like another has slipped away, i would think that gt has other targets, just hope that we don't get into the same situation as last season where all the managers targets opt for different clubs and we end up with maybe the fourth or fifth choice of player. i guess that is the problem with trying to tempt players from a higher league, there is always the possibility of other clubs hearing about our interest and making a bid themselves. don't want to be lumbered with another elder do we !!

I see this as a disappointment.....if he had signed he would have lifted my current expectations for the new season

Disapponting but the fee involved can now be put to use elsewhere, I'm sure Toumani would cost well in excessof £100k, maybe that can be used to entice Lionel or even help fund Theos' loan move - we can but dream!

i'm not convinced he would have cost too much. Not sure brentford and espec Hereford have that sort of money. and Fry seemed to say it was in his hands who he signed for

Very disappointing news, lets hope Turner can unearth some more young loanee gems in his mould. Maybe this and the ainsworth / Bradley moves show that players have stopped believing the hype about the new stadium and our amazing facilities.

He hasnt signed for anyone yet, so i am not disappointed. the comments from the Brentford manager didnt seem too convincing.
boss Andy Scott has denied a move for Diagouraga is imminent.
He said: "We've spoken to Peterborough over the summer, but their numbers don't start with the same numbers as ours.
"It's one that may or may not happen, but it's been like that for the last three months.
"He did very well for us last year and he had a good partnership with Kevin in the centre of the park. He's obviously got quality and we want to bring better quality to the club.
"There's not many games tonight, he's from London, so he's just come to watch the game and see what happens."

Well only one of them can be telling the truth but it does seem to indicate where Diagouraga wants to go, must be because he read B&A and didn't fancy the abuse.
