Rooney struts round the pitch, playing absolutely woefully, in the worst England perfrmance I've seen for quite some time from such a talented group of players.
He then has the nerve to blame the fans, those people who have saved up for years to pay for their dream holiday to support the guys
Disgraceful attitude from him, and you could argue he should be dropped from the next game based on his perfomances

People always said Beckham was a overrated but at least he put in good performances in important games. Rooney is talented but until he really grabs a major game and influences it in a big way he will be hype over achievement for me.

Cleary not fit. Was holding his ankle again in the first half. Also think the formation is forcing him out of the game. Heskey is playing ok, but this is to the detrement of Rooney. He is being drawn away from the goal because nothing is coming to him, then he is being given the ball in tight, difficult positions. He should be hanging onto the last defender. As for the booing? Why would you do that?! Why put the team under more uneccessary pressure? This is counter-productive from the fans. Encourage them ffs!

Thanks for that. He doesn't have an uncle in Paul Simpson does he?
I suspect if I'd paid a fortune to travel and watch that lot I would feel like booing and it's a pity that Rooney can't appreciate just how much effort and cash the fans have put in.

What the **** does he expect?
That squad is paid hundreds of thousands a week and then go and put in the most disgraceful performance I have ever seen in a england shirt. They deserve to be Flippin hanged the bunch of overpaid poofs. Not to mention he has been fairly Flippin s**t in both games himself. Fans have payed thousands to go and see that pile of s**t.
That entire team is nothing short of a complete Flippin disgrace. Bunch of overpaid w****rs.
Utter ****s

"Home Fans"
I know Rooney's not the brightest, but hopefully even he realises that South Africa isn't exactly on the average Englishmen's way to work

Anyway, ask Everton fans what they think of Rooney's brand of loyalty.

England have a game next week. Sure they get paid 100,000s a week, but Money doesn't make them mentally invincible. They are still human despite their pay packets.

It was discussed on a thread a few months ago, I claimed Rooney was the most over rated player in England, I was slaughtered, perhaps my point was proved tonight.
Over Rated and over paid IMO. Best player in the world? tell Messi and Ronaldo that

heskey did more than rooney tonite Yea. He misplaced a bunch of passes, lost the ball constantly and fell over a few times. Not much better in my opinion although then again at-least he put some real effort in and tried.

heskey did more than rooney tonite Heskey did the job asked of him, to a reasonable standard. But this affected the shape of the team.

The players get paid 100,000s a week, the supporters who had to save up and buy tickets and travel all that way to watch THAT, deserve better. Just because Rooney, Lampard and co are used to winning games and being idolised by fans, does not mean they are immune to criticism What did he expect. A polite round of applause and a "nice try son, better luck next time" It's a joke

The booing is counter productive to the teams mentality and could therefore negatively impact the teams performance - giving the fans even less value for money. If we lose against Slovenia, then it would be fair. But to heckle while we are still in the tournament is silly.

Just because someone can kick a football in the right direction, (occasionally), doesn't mean they have to lose their human rights to be thick.

They got what they deserved and Rooney should too by being dropped as he looks unfit and disinterested. His comments matter not a jot to me but on his performance in the first 2 games he needs dropping. No England manager would have the balls to do it though.

They need a kick up the arse not a kiss on the cheek. Booing will hopefully make them realize that the standard they playing to is unacceptable.

There seems to be a certain similarity between this England side and Simpsons first full season in charge - the players should on paper be producing much better results than they are, but something just isn't working out.
Long term I think the FA have got to have a major look at how we coach players from a young age. The English Rugby and Cricket set ups had to go through major change to get the roots of the sport right, I'm not sure the FA have the guts to do that level of change though

Defoe did more in the 15 minutes he was on than Rooney has done in 2 games and after those comments about the fans who have payed thousands of pounds and time off work to go and support England he should be dropped for the last game!

He also bottled pretty much every challange that came his way. I don't care how big a name the player is, if they are not willing to fight for the cause then they shouldn't play.
Joe Cole to start!

The players know they have again failed to perform and will feel frustrated with themselves as much as anyone else. They won't enjoy being boo-ed off, but most will probably understand that the fans had to release a bit of frustration after 90 minutes of that.

Or was that just made up to make it sound worse I think the fans were wrong booing England did well to hold on for a draw Pilch your one of the better posters on here, but to say we did well to hold on for a draw is ridiculous I went up to Darlington again last season. They had played 13 games without a win and ran rings round us. I would have taken a draw. A win next Wednesday would see England through. A loss tonight, would just about have p**sed on the chips.
