I've started it a bit early as team news should be in at 5.30 - 5.45pmish. 2 hours before kick off with all eyes on the goalkeeping position.
BBC Sources said that this would be the squad:
James
Johnson Terry Carragher A.Cole
Lennon Lampard Barry Gerrard
Heskey Rooney
With Gerrard on the left but they got 2 players wrong for the first match.
My prediction is 3-1 Rooney x2 Lampard

We need goals and he plays Heskey. Flippin marvelous.
I reckon 1-1 or 2-1.
Let me guess he is also going to stick Gerrard on the left again where he is totally ineffective.... If he is going to stick him on the left then there is not even any point in playing him. Just stick Cole there.
On the right would be more understandable since he has actually played for liverpool one season and did a great job. On the left he is dire.

That would be the perfect position to play him but you know Fabio. Heskey is his star man.

Get off Heskey's back. He was the best player on the pitch on Saturday and he was in the team when England won their Qualifying group. I'm by no means a fan of Heskey, but you need to keep a level head about this. I still think that Green should start, though.

No. Gerrard was our best player last saturday and how many premiership goals has Heskey scored this season... An almighty... 3Even those were against Burnley (home & away) & Sunderland. One goal in the qualifiers despite playing almost every game and that was against the footballing giants Kazakhstan. It is a joke why he was even on the plane in the first place.

Hart
Johnson Terry Dawson Cole
Milner Lampard Barry Gerrad
Hesky Defoe
That's the team I would field if I was Capello. I think that is your strongest squad. Hesky played absolutely brilliant last game and is always a vital asset to the team. He doesn't score many goals which results in plenty of stick but i'd deffinately start with him.
I wouldn't play Rooney as he's been poor in the latest couple of games. I think having a less 'high-profile' player like Defoe up front will pay dividends. Bring Rooney on after half time to run his arse off. He's always marked out of the game and has no impact.
Anyway, good luck, don't think its going to be as straight forward as some of you think

I'm sorry Ed but just being good at holding the ball up should not be enough to get a starting place in the world cup. Its not like he's short of opportunity's. He had a fantastic chance against the US but just shot it straight at the keeper. He has no attributes of a good striker at all. The only good season he has ever had that could justify him being the world cup was 2000-01 where he scored 19 goals and arguably the following one where he scored 14. Ever since then he should be nowhere near the squad. Its Flippin joke that a guy who scored 3 goals last season in over 40 apps is our first choice striker. Oh and 7 goals in 59 apps for england. Is that good enough for you?

Look at Defoe's goalscoring record at international record, not great either and he doesn't offer what Heskey does.

Defoe although he has been poor in previous years was quality for england last year. Scored a fair few. I don't care what you say but he is a far bigger goal threat then Heskey. Also Crouch has a fantastic goal scoring record for england to boot.

Fairly dreadful so far. Dunfield wouldn't look out of place out there.

Crouch offers what Heskey does + goals Absolute bulls**t. Crouch is a pathetic player with absolutely no physical presence. Despite his incredible height, he is abysmal in the air and has probably won about 2 headers in his entire career to date. Heskey is the nation's best target-man. Feedo Knasher knows nothing about football.

Time and time again he makes contact with the ball when it's launched towards him - and the ball just goes 10 yds in any random direction. Second rate.

Crouch has scored 21 goals in 39 appearances for England. Heskey has scored 7 goals in 59 appearances for England. Personally, I'd rather Defoe on.

s**te.
Like the last days of Sven meets The Very Worst of Steve McClaren.
Need to go 4-4-1-1, Gerrard off Rooney, J Cole on left ASAP.
Surely can't go same again.
Sort it out Simmo!
