The guy was class last night and the switch to centre midfield appears to have done him the world of good.
As the person responsible for starting a rather unflattering poll about Street last week I can only apologise to the guy. Frustration had set in and emotions were running pretty high. The fact that a number of people bothered voting in the poll suggests that I wasn't the only one who felt that way!!
Here's hoping Quinn keeps him in the centre (although I doubt he'll play there much once Tolley is fit) but it doesn't take much to see where his best position is. That said, perhaps a few good performances in the middle will give him the confidence to run at defenders a bit more if he has another stint on the wing later in the season.
Come on Salop

As someone who was most offended by your Poll, it is nice to see you have the courage and honesty to post your apology.

I am just pleased he has turned it around
I suggested I did not know how he became a professional footballer, now I have seen why he made it, and it ain't from playing on the wing!
Super super Kev......

not many that come up through the Crewe academy and play first division football are going to be poor footballers! Street is class. O'Connor/Street in central midfield from now on.

Respect is due, he was very good last night, i haven't been his biggest fan but it does look like he's starting to get it together.

Kevin Street is owed an apology from the Quinn Reaper for having played him in central midfield for only a handful of games.

Can I gloat as well? "Street looks like a decent footballer to me" was my response to the poll.
He and O'Connor should stay in centre midfield, I know Tolley is a big favourite but he is a runner, not a footballer.
I'll get my flak jacket ;D

Pleasing to see that the qualities that the Crewe & Bristol Rovers fans said they were going to miss from him are now coming to the fore - long may it continue.
However am I alone in thinking that whilst he is not a winger, being a professional footballer with his background & experience, he (and anyone else for that matter) should be able to cope adequately with being asked to play about 20 yards to the left of where he does normally and still be able to pass, tackle & cross ?

It's amazing how several of our players look better playing in their normal positions, rather than where Mr Quinn feels fit to play them.
I'm sure Ryan Lowe would look good played as a FORWARD

With Street and Darby now starting to come good we might just do it. On the Lowe point I've always thought he should play up front just behind Rodgers and Darby, he scores most of his goals from this position.

I can see why streety is playing better as a central midfielder as the wingers role is completely different, he seems more suited to being in the centre and its no coinicidence that we have put in two of our best performances this season with him in the middle.
If we again play well on Saturday with Streety in the middle then i think Jimmy Quinn will be ill-advised to drop him when Tolly or Edwards come back.

Agree on both points Kickin', there is a difference from playing out wide to a central role, i.e. would you play Moss at centre back?
Quinn has basically brought the wrong man in to do the left wing job (is this what he brought street in for?) but it is dissapointing how badly he's played in that role.
On merit, both Tolley and Edwards don't deserve a look in on current form.
