What are STFC Finances like? Probably OK from last years because of the FA cup. Am I right in thinking that we are 300k worse off in the Conference through TV money (1st year 150k parachute payment) so if we are in the Conference next year then we have got to save at least 300k which sounds like a fair bit of trimming on the old wage bill. i.e. a smaller squad. May be 20 players and good bye to the youth system even. OK this year gates have been good and probably helped a bit but how good will it be if we stay in the Conference - hopefully if we are near the top then support will remain strong at home. (also we could lose some local teams and hence have no good derby matches). I hope I don't sound to gloomy but this is reality and I bet the Directors have thought this over to. The books have to balance! I know a lot of people who said last year that was it in terms of supporting the team and are still going down The Meadow - largely I think because supporting the Town is lie a drug and they need their fix also they would not have anything to moan about - maybe we all enjoy it more than we think.

We are ok until the end of Season 2004/5.
After that, serious cutbacks will have to be made unless we see a change in circumstances before then.
