didn't millwall offer to host the game and give telford all the money plus extra ? (and telford turned it down) and fans with the 'we don't need the money atattitude' and would rather have an empty east terrace than £15-20K worth of away fans (i've been there 4 or 5 times this season, more than some of their big game only fans) ok i feel sorry and i would like to help but its the stay away fans that are the main problem lets see if they are willing to help themselves first

Top post Pilch.
I seem to remember a TUFC fan who posts in here being a right plonker saying they could buy who they want because they were ****ing loaded.Let them sort the mess out first if they can then we can help if it is needed.

Can't help but feel the blame lies with Andy Shaw here.
Why on earth would he have turned down Millwall's offer?
Clearly he was kidding himself, his family, his business associates and the TUFC fans.
Don't think there are any stay-away fans PILCH. There is a hardocore of 1,000 and that's it. Can't force people to watch football - we'll see the same next year probably.

I have to say I would like to know: a) how many people in Telford go to matches at other clubs b) how many support other clubs, but are armchair fans.
There are over 200,000 people in the borough of Telford its b) they should go after

What stay away fans PILCH? I think they, like Town, have a good 'hard core' support that attend the games through think and thin...
What can they do? The club was unable to sustain the ambitions of the chairman...unsure what more the supporters can do except to turn up as they always have done...can't magic up another couple of thousand supporters from somewhere can they?

It's worth remembering that when our stock was pretty low in 2000 and it looked like we were dropping out of the league, just 2,220 fans turned up to watch a home game with Lincoln only 4 weeks before the last game.
The Shropshire Star got behind us, and we had an average of over 5,000 in our last 3 games.
The Shropshire Star should do the same for Telford.

ok maybe the fan base isn't that great
in which case a shaw shouldnt be signing on players that are on over £2000 per week
thats £104,000 per year
divide that by £9 = 11555 fans needed to pay his wages for the year
over 11 games going on telfords average att for last season just to pay 1 player
(we all thought it was due to andy shaw being loaded)
he was obviously running before he could walk

Yep, that's right.
We're paying high wages because of money we made (still doesn't disguise the fact we're wasting it....) but unless we get promoted, we must expect squad cuts.
