Not many fans of teams 5th from top at this stage in the season, with 6-9 points in hand to teams above them and very little points difference, would be calling for the heads of tzheir manager and board. It is very unusual for a team to go down to the conference and not struggle to be in our position. Over the last season, we have appointed a new manager who has had to form a squad and get them to gel - this takes time, but we still have a very reasonable position (yes I think it should be better, but we have done little wrong at home). I think we are unlikely to get the title, but are most likely to get a play-off place. There is no reson whatsoever, why we should not win the play-offs on the right day, although we have no god-given right to do so. All the teams that will be in the play-offs are playing well and they will be worried about us as we are of them. Lets make our views known to the manager (but support him) and get behind the lads. By making them feel bad and other teams good at games, we will do no favours. Let Quinny see out his contract and judge then. If we change our manager each season, we will never get out of the conference. Even if the worst happens and we don´t get out of the conference this year lets judge him at the end of his contract - that´s why we set contract periods, to give a target for reviewing performance.

"with 6-9 points in hand "
Only IF we win the games, and that is a very big IF.
"It is very unusual for a team to go down to the conference and not struggle to be in our position"
True, but most teams who go down are in a financial mess, and have small gates (therefore small revenue, and not much 'clout' in the transfer market). STFC are financially sound and have a large wage bill.
"There is no reson whatsoever, why we should not win the play-offs on the right day"
We would need to perform in 3 straight games to do so. Something we haven't come close to so far this season.

No need to be sorry about airing your views Tony, everyone is entitled.
But a few points to consider
1) We're 6th not 5th
2) 5 out of our next 6 games are against Hereford, Barnet, Exeter, Telford and Chester.
Our record in the 'big games' this season speaks for itself - it's rubbish.
Our away form is poor.

Our home results are ok, but our performances at home are diabolical. Its like going to watch an opera ( not that I have or ever will ;D ), the tunes all right but the words just make no sence at all

Hi Tony, nice to hear from you again.
With all due respect, have you been to many games recently?
We are seeing a side in disarray, outfought and out manoevered with no apparent teamwork. This is why we are so pessimistic.
On recent form there is little hope of getting anythig from the big games to come and even a play-off place seems unlikely.

Not bad for a team in disarray!

On recent form, you mean 13 points out of a possible 18? Not bad for a team in disarray! No, Simon, ignoring the point again. Look at our next 6 fixtures - 1 local derby and 4 games against sides in the top 5. Our performances and results against these teams are not good enough, as are our performances in any 'big games'. If we only had bottom half teams left to play it may be different, but we haven't.

it wouldn't be that different against bottom half teams. we're not "overperforming" agains them, are we?

Forest green were a bottom half team and there was no difference there - i actually think this result was the last turing point of the season - to draw like that hit the players hard and they still aint over it So what have Sevenage and Gravesend got to fear at the Medow
