End of Season,
Chester go up as champions - well you couldn't bet against it, Clare and Stamp scoring goals for fun, best defense in the league...
Play offs?
Hereford - bound to be there
Aldershot - need to consolidate their place, but D'Sane and Sills are pretty consistent and they're hard to beat at home
Barnet - change of manager might upset the rhythm, but with Grazioli they know they can concede a few goals and still get results
Exeter? Who knows - but I don't think they can keep us out - if we make our games in hand count.
Shrews - ? We'll be in the mix, but who is going to give us our edge? Sammy could be the key, but he's out for a crucial time and will he be fit? Luke should be our talisman, but he's not shown anything like the consistency you'd have expected. Cramb - has he lost the plot? That leaves Darby and Banim - 2 enigmatic players, one with a pedigree that hasn't yet proven decisive, and the other needs a run in the side to find his form.
I think that we, the fans, are the key. Undoubtedly the biggest asset the club has, but at the same time we put pressure on the players - and also the officials. When was the last match you can recall where we didn't give stick to the lads or the men in black?
I think our future rests with us. We have games in hand and a great following, but we must turn both to our advantage. We stand to gain nothing by hassling the team, or giving the officials a hard time. When did a ref ever change his mind because we called him "another sh.. it ref"? We might be lucky and get a new player or 2 to play left back or bolster the midfield, but basically, what we have is what we've got - and we need to make it work. We face Aldershot, Hereford, Barnet then Exeter in our next 4 games - could it get any more decisive than that? Eliminate the boos, jeers and grief from your matchdays for the next 2 weeks, put on your blue and amber glasses and get behind the team. Time to stand up and sing your hearts out for the lads!
