Lucky you played Perkins CC at football and not pie eating, they would have hammered you at that!

Pilch "the cat" is right we could take em in pie eating as well It was a good game today in what were the worst conditions i have ever played in - remember the strongest wind you were in today - add some really hard rain and a soking pitch - welcome to SCAT on a SAt morning!!! Stand out games today from Pilch in goal - a few vital saves and MASSIVE Goal kicks. Edgey second half with "that" goal line clearence, Gerry, Phil, Gal and Chris did not look that troubled all game really - a testiment to how the back 4 has gelled in recent weeks. Ant ws his usual bussling self driving forward and tracking back and Duuny was silid in the midfirld battle beaking plenty up early and helping out in defence in the second half ristricing them space for any shots. Winny and Giles used the space they could find to good effect. Dave gets the Winner (with an lovey pass from my knee ) and has a solid hadworking game taking he game to the opponents. Andys second half play was clever going short for Goal kicks and helping out all over the field. Well done all Thought in the last 10 we sould have got another - which shows how well we came back from the hard start of the second half and he nightmare conditions of the first half!!!! If i forgot anyone - it cos i dont know you yet!!!! Hereford - next week - another clean sheet and another win i think!!!

Its obviously not Perkins CC 1st X1 that also play football then, because you'd have no chance against them guys!

I couldn't say SNFC, but take nothing away from the win yesterday, it was hard fought I agree with most of what Pricey has to say but I think Phil, Gerry and Pilch were outstanding and the defence as a whole had a cracker. I felt a bit sorry for Wynnie though yesterday, in the first half there was a fair bit of space on the wing but never saw much of ball. The second half was different as I got the run of the slope, but we do create chances when we hit the wings so maybe should try it a bit more? A good result which sets us up nicely for Hereford

I was under the impresion it was a lot of Perkins first XI. They had a lot of good footballers in their side and it shows how much as a team we have come along.
It's a pity the weather reduced the game a little as it would have seen some nice football played by both teams.
I'm very pleased with the result especially the clean sheet. I really enjoy playing alongside Gerry in the centre of defence, he's such a solid footballer

I disagree, Wynnie saw a fair amount of the ball.
It can be very frustrating playing on the wing (I fdon't like playing there) as there can be periods you see some of the ball and long periods when you don't - as opposed to playing in the centre when you should be involved most of the time. I think as a whole we use all of the midfield well but yesterday the conditions made it hard for both sides to play a normal game.
The most important thing yesterday was that we gave 100%, and we did.

Ant's strongest position is definately central midfield.

I concur Loyalshrew, he has the biggest engine out of the lot of us and this should utillised, but it's never easy to pick a team. Maybe we should change to a Quinn-esque 3-4-1-2

excellent result in awful conditions.
pilches good kicking certianly helped us as his kicks were going alot further than Perkins keeper was at the same end.
defence is certainly the best i have known it since playing for the team, in the last 4 games i have played in we,ve only conceeded 1 goal. In the past an ASFC clean sheet was very rare indeed.
On Ants position i agree that his best position is centre mid but we have two excellent players there already in Carl and Stu Dunn. I think they would equally be out of poistion if they went right wing but maybe its a question of Ant fills that role better than Carl or Stu would. Left back isint my best or favorite position but i guess its a case of slotting in as required.
