Is it true that the gate at the away end is now closed for away fans to get back to the station . And if this is the case what will the police do when the game is over do you just wander backinto town or is there one of those escort things . Which would not surprise me due to the to sets of goons that tag on to the two clubs. just wondering if its worth the hassle or to drive down

If its the gate to the railway station you mean, then I think its been closed for ages. If its not that gate your on about, then ignore the above.

TBH, coming by train is not recomended Too much hassle by police and any troublemakers around after the game, and i'm sure there will be "several incidents" as the police call them, before and after the game. Come by car, enjoy the match drive home, and no 45 min wait to get out of Shrewsbury (like we had at Chester)

Doesnt that gate re-open for big away followings? Mind you the last time I tried to take that route (a couple of years ago) the pathway was almost blocked with overgrown bushes and the gate itself had non-drying black paint on it, much to my shock as I tried to climb it

the gate is shut and you can't use it
hence trouble in The Yorkshire House when Hereford came as it was between station and Meadow
come by car and enjoy your trip

Thanks for that fellas. Its just I belive there is a large amount coming by train and i dont want to get stuck in an escort like cattle. Would like to have nipped in to town for a pint before the game. And used the gate to get back to the station asap to get back home as Iam a bugger for missing the last train. Wife lets me of the lesh and beer takes over next thing iam sleepin on the station. Looks like the car then.
