to satisfy the B&A cynics- exceed their unrealistic expectations, walk away with this league which they have deemed crap despite evidence to the contrary, win and play with style most of the time, admit personal liability for every defeat, never change the formation or team irrespective of the opposition or our player's form or availability- yeh right, get real give the guy a chance- support extends beyond the players

Paul, the game versus Leigh RMI was one of the worst performances I have ever seen by Shrewsbury Town Football Club...you want me to be happy, content with that? We're simply expected to accept that?
Each and everyone of us has their own expectations for the season...mine I never really considered to be unrealistic. Each to their own I guess...

I admire your optimism Paul.
But I fear for our chances of winning the playoffs when
a) We've only won one 'big' game this season
b) Our away form is terrible.

Im not sure optimistic is the right word Ant- I think I stood behind you at the Telford game- you are a true supporter like me, you usually default to being positive and supportive- but that has to extend to the manager- it's a really difficult job and to get into a trend of sacking managers every 5 minutes I believe will be a bad thing fro the club. I disagree with quite a few things Quinn has done this season but he is the current manager and deserves our support

Absolutely mate, I don't think he's going to be sacked and I personally wouldn't sack him at the moment. I think the fans will continue to get behind the side but I do worry that attendances will also dwindle over the next few weeks.

No Stuttgarter I do not expect you to be content or happy with that performance- but I would expect you to support the manager in his first season with his team lying in a play-off place. What were your expectations?

Since August I have been waiting for Jimmy Quinn to...
1) get a left back 2) get a right sided midfielder 3) get a formation that works
Our away form is woeful, we have bottled every big game bar Hereford and our only creativity comes from Aiston
He's pushed players like Murray and Tolley out of the club, and replaced them with players like Street who are comparable quality if I am being kind to them
Almost every press interview has said the same thing, with no sign of what is being said ever being done
Yes at the games we will back the team, no I don't want Jimmy Quinn sacked now, what good would that do?
But for someone with a UEFA pro badge he seems utterly inept tactically, the style of football we play is poor, the football players we have don't understand our constantly changing systems, we don't allow our players the freedom to play the way they can, and then next to him on the bench are 4 other people, three of whom have no or little qualification to do what they are doing
and the standard of football in this league is dire, as is the standard of the opposition. Take FGR, they really had nothing, I mean, they were dire, this was the team who shipped 7 goals at home to Hereford and we got a point there. Surely there is something amiss?

Paul,
I'm looking at the overall picture here. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be in a play off position, but not the manner in which we are there.
Would you not agree that we kept the majority of decent players, the rising stars? Would you not agree that we have made some excellant signings? Would you not agree that we have to be the most financially sound club in the Conference?
Why then week upon week have we failed to put in decent performances? Sometimes performances have been absymal.
Is that down to the players who simply aren't doing the business (when reputation dictates they should be doing otherwise)? Or is it a manger who fails to know his best 11, constantly tinkers with systems and formations and fails to motivate his players sufficiently?
I'm afraid my money is on the latter.
Do not get me wrong. I will continue to give the team my utmost support. I will sing and cheer the lads on. I never boo the team off at half time, and I don't believe in shouting abuse at players. I wil be singing the roof down in the Wakeman Stand Sponsors area on Saturday in an effort to help the lads gain the 3 points required.
I hope JQ goes on to prove me wrong, but my picture of reality at the moment says we will fall short in the play offs due to the problems we have seen as mentioned above.

And no, he won't be sacked. That isn't an option. But if Lawrie Sanchez came knocking on the door for a number 2 I would not be disappointed.

Im sure people on this board see the Town through rose tinted glasses Basic Facts..... 1. We have played one decent game (Hereford) 2. We have played a couple of reasonable games 3. We have played some real dire football ( Leigh, Tamworth, Dagenham and Stevenage away) 4. The rest of the games haven't been at enjoyable to watch. 5. I cannot remember that many times when the team have played the same formation on the trot. We fork out a lot of dosh through out the season and isn't it not suprising that people's patience are beginning to fray with some of the crap we are watching week in and week out. I don't blame anyone on this board for being frustrated and I certainly wouldn't critise them for being miffed. RANT OVER

Those arnt basic facts! however true they are, they are still only opinion. These are basic facts: 40 games played this season won 22 drawn 10 lost 8 29 league goals conceded in 32 matches I thought the majority on here wanted a winning team at all costs at the start of the season. If you want excitement you can have Ratcliffe back
