The anger and disatisfaction has stemmed from a number of games, not just the Telford one. It was terrible going out last night, but whats just as terrible is our standard of football throughout the entire season to date.

Greg...this is football mate, this is 22 blokes kicking a bag of wind about a field. Of course it isn't the end of the world, of course nobody has died. Whats your point?
We come on here and talk things Shrewsbury Town, thats all...

At the end of the day we've lost a game of football. Telford played better than us last night and deserved to win. There is no disgrace in losing to a better team. What will be a disgrace is if we don't learn from this and pick ourselves up for what is ultimatly the most important two months of this football clubs history. Yes we should be better than Telford and in reality we are, a little more composure on the ball and confidence in front of the net and I think we can still turn this season in to a major positive.
So Telford fans gloated last night and will for weeks, hell it's not as if being Shrewsbury supporters we aren't used to being mocked. Let them have their glory, and lets hope that come May we know we will never have to return to the squalid little town ever again.
Now is not the time to turn against the town, but to stand taller and shout louder, we must not surrender the title to chester, without a fight. Above all we must believe, and make sure that the players see that belief.
Remember we are 3rd in the division, with a team mainly consisting of newcomers, we are not doing badly!
(ps. I've calmed down from last night as it might have been a bit more agitated)

Getting relegated was a national humiliation. The 'doomsday' game against Carlisle was broadcast nationwide (maybe even worldwide) on Radio 5. There was large coverage on Sky Sports News, BBC local news, radio...it was awful. How much media coverage has the Telford defeat recieved outside Shropshire? Bugger all.
Yes it hurts, its not nice losing local pride and there will be stinging jibes from our neighbours but think about it in perspective. After relegation whenever I wore my Town shirt out and about, the comments would be 'Shrewsbury isn't it? Didn't you get relegated from the league?'
Something tells me I won't have quite the same problem over the Telford game...

Stuttgarter i have read the posts and most people sound as though they have lost the plot. That is why i made the point. So what we lost a game in a competition that is pointless and could jeopardise any chance of going up.Is that not a good thing?

It could surely never be a 'good' thing to lose to Telford, whether its the FAT, SSC or league. It just shows us plumbing new depths all the while.

Thing is tho', would we be talking about it as a 'pointless' 'meaningless' trophy if we had won last night? I doubt it...

Yes but if we had won we would have at least 2 extra games and we don't want the excuse of being tired used by JQ if we fail in the play-offs.By getting knocked out it means they should be fresher and hopefully they will play a little better.

At the end of the day last night was just another kick up the arse us Town fans have received over the last 15 odd years. After the past season and a bit my arse is so numb over the times football has kicked it that I can forget when Im sitting down.
It shows how far we have tumbled down when we take a defeat to Telford(no disrespect) on the chin so well, but like others have said its not the end of the world.

It's all swings and roundabouts really, there are good points to the defeat and bad points to the defeat, same way as there would have been good and bad points to victory. Last night pales into insignificance when you compare it to relegation, or if you compare it to the consequences if we go back up, but I dis-agree with some people on this site who have called the defeat 'meaningless', because it sure as hell meant something to me

I voted for the Telford game, perhaps I was wrong. I was pretty much convinced we were going down way back in September when Bristol Rovers tanked us 5-2 at the Meadow so I had a long time to get used to it so that when we did finally go down it wasn't any surprise. The Telford game was all over with in 90 minutes and it came as much more of a shock than something which 8 months to unfold.

who are the 6 people who think losing to Telford last night was worse than getting relegated to the Conf??? Get a fcuking grip... actually it is 11 now! I fear the reaction is not based on losing to Telford exactly mbut more the realisation we probably aren't good enough to go back up even when we do make the play offs

Craig, Why were you so surprised that we lost to Telford? We are in the same league and while we should be beating these teams I'm getting a bit fed up with this attitude that we are so much better than anyone else.
The players we have are at the better end of conference standard, hence we are in the top three of the conference. Why do people expect us to have a team that is so much better than the division standard? If the players were of a higher standard they would be playing at a higher standard, and would all be playing for the likes of kidderminster!
If I hear one more time someone saying," this is the worst team I've seen", or "this team is crap compared to the one 10 years ago" Of course it is, its a conference team! Get off individuals backs, accept that the players aren't going to be as gifted as those we've seen before and start believing that this team is good enough to win automatic promotion, which it undoubtedly is!
Everyone has the right to moan, but to enter a corner shop and spend the next 2 hours moaning that the product selection is much poorer than at Tescos is bulls**t!
Yes it hurt on Tuesday, but get over it! I'm not to worried about you negative lot on here but what concerns me is the negativity at the meadow, mostly from older to middle aged men (but also many younger people) Who continually harp on about it being the worst team ever, and are prepared to boo and personally attack players at their first touch. Ryan Lowe for example the other week when he scored and set up the goal. If I was him after scoring his goal I would have run to the Wakeman end of the Riverside and told the miserable moaning pessimists where to stick it. (ps. I was the one ironically booing and screaming "Quin you idiot get the useless git off" as he celebrated his goal!)
I'm all for showing players that a performance is not good enough but for a team to be third in the division and get the kind of stick they have recieved recently is quite frankly disgusting, and for a suggestion to be made that a manager should be sacked after 9 months with a virtually new squad, lying third in the division, shows what a dream world we are living in!
I admit sometimes Quins Tactics baffle me and seem quite bizarre, but the fact we are still in a very creditable position, is enough for me!
Come on you Blues (and quite frankly if you think the team and manager are s**t, stay away!) I'm sure your 12 quid could be better spent else where!

"Craig, Why were you so surprised that we lost to Telford?"
I said I was more surprised with losing to Telford than getting relegated and I gave my reasons on that thread.
"I'm getting a bit fed up with this attitude that we are so much better than anyone else."
With the resources available to the club we should be pushing for the championship. We are not and the current attitude has stemmed from the fact that we are not good enough to do so.
