I have just re-read Frank Skinners autobiography, and there was a classic "Oscar wilde" type witty retort. Frank was approached by a well known feminist journalist and she said, "i found your show verging on the offensive" Frank replied "there is only one virgin on the offensive here". What is your favorite "very witty Wilde" response?

"I've nothing to declare but my genius!"
(I believe that particular quote is now printed on a T-shirt!)

Yeh, skinners book is a good read... I notice how he goes out of his way to mention that he isn't one of the new " celebratory fans " you get in the media these days. His tales at West Brom are well funny.
I have just read two very good footie books..
Hand of God - Jimmy Burns... fascinating
England Vs Argentia World cups and other small wars - David Downing... This is a great book to understand the tension between us and the argies.. goes into the expalnation of different rule interpretations and colonial history as well as tthe hand of God etc..

I once heard a lad trying to make the acquaintance of a girl in a night club:
Lad: "I'd love to get into your knickers!"
Girl: "I already have one A******* in there thanks!"

Here's a good one for this board "On an occasion like this it becomes more than a moral duty to speak one's mind, it becomes a pleasure!" (Oscar Wilde) Here's one for TOAO- ( Another Oscarism) "The old-fashioned respect for the young is fast dying out!"
