I am getting close to 2000 spam e mails per day, my account is with Orange (running XP), how can I close this address, I have opened new ones but Orange tell me to filter the emails on the old one to solve the problem however I can only filter 100 which would help a little if I knew the address the next one is coming from but still the numbers would pile up. I am on a 12 month contract with Orange which has a while to run so cannot switch to another supplier. If I leave the address dormant for 90 days it says the account can be closed but by that time there could be over 200,000 messages in the pipeline. Anyone have knowledge which can help.

I'd do one of two things - either leave it dormant for the 90 days and let it be closed - the 200,000 wouldn't be your problem. Ideally though, I'd e-mail Orange Customer Services (again?) and explain the full situation and complain about their filter's ineffectiveness - they may well have another idea. Thing is though, how the heck do you get 2000 spams a day? Been signing up for things you shouldn't?
