I pick and choose my away games now and am living back in Shropshire so although I have had expensive seasons in the past, I guess its more like £750/season these days even though I am taking my young son to more and more matches (he saves a lot on buffet costs because he has become expert at getting hold of Lenny's sweets)

i would say, personally > £206 (season ticket) £12 per home game (beer, food, prog) or £20 if cup game and pay for entry £35 per away game (beer, food, prog, transport, entry) so this season, i have missed 4 games (away) total cost: Home League games : 16 x £12 (average) = £192 Home cup games: 2 x 20 = £40 Away League games: 11 of 15 x £35 = £385 Away Cup games: 4 x £35 = £140 £757 (cost of games, approx) + season ticket = £957

I'd dread to think how much it costs my old man as he is the one who often pays for me to get in.
I normally just have to cover the train fare and admission to places such as Exeter (when he doesnt go)
If we included pre-season I've probably spent only a couple of hundred quid of my own money, most of that on trains!

I'd dread to think of the costs,
but whatever they are - the benefits certainly outweigh them

Each home game costs me:
£12 admission £2 Programme £7-10 beer/buffet £30 Fuel to and from Shrewsbury
total £50 per game. Plus of course having to take the Mrs out for a meal in Shrewsbury if she comes up too.
I make about 10 - 15 home games a season, and maybe 10 away. I suppose it must come in somewhere near a grand.

As ant says, the benifits totally out weigh the costs. I've not only learnt a lot through supporting STFC but met hundreads of fantastic people and travelled a lot of England. Football is excellent to draw experiences from in job interview situations as well
