Went to see Travis last night with the girlie. Support band was the excellent Keane. I've never seen a support band watched by so many. The place was virtually full! And when they played "Somewhere only we know" well they brought the house down!
Travis were excellent. On stage for for an hour and forty.
Didn't know what to expect. Remember seeing Travis supporting Cast at Civic Hall, Wolves. Walked off after three songs for a beer! DOH.
Excellent gig. Manchester Apollo was a good venue, but there seemed to be loads of people trying to rake it in with the secured parking!

They are in Manchester again tonight as a mate is going along to watch that instead of the Leigh game on telly.
Anyone else on here go and see Travis at the Music Hall in 97?

The area around Manchester Apollo is a bit hair raising, my dad and I decided to explore the surrounding area after dropping her off to see some gig, after walking for a few minutes we soon made sure we kept our hands firmly in our pockets My sis also said the Apollo was the worst venue she'd ever been to.

More boring Bands crap music discussion Come to the year 2004 – hip hop is the future – im off to see obie Trice and Black Twang on the weekend of the Hereford game! – you have probably never herd of them but to me there every bit as good as Keane is to you bandos. As for Travis – god they are depressing how can you stand a concert full of there depressing drivel

Wish you'd get off the fence and speak your mind Pricey The Apollo is an excellent venue in my view - saw Underworld there in 99 and they were awesome.

Saw The Coral at the appollo in November and walked there from the station. We were standing at the bottom, right at the front and it was good. My brother was sitting upstairs and didn't think it was that good a venue. Dodgy area.

I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan at the Apollo in 1988. He played Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) for an encore - unforgettable. Played the guitar behind his head and his back. Came on at 8.30 pm and left the stage at 11pm. They couldn't stop him playing.
