Just a quick post regarding the summer and, after the huge success of last year's Golf Day, some thoughts on this year's.
I've spoken to a few people about location. Understandably there are a number of good courses in the region but so far we've felt it would be best to play it at Meole again for reasons such as
- Municiple (no major dress code) - Well priced - In Shrewsbury - Suitable for beginners and more experienced golfers.
This year I think we'd be looking again at random teams of four players - the same format as last year.
What does everyone think?

Quality Ant mate - gonna be looking forward to this for the next few months!!!! I think meole is fine mate as some of the other local courses might frown upon some of the antics of last time - ie drinking on the green! - lots of shouting ect, plus its cheep and im quite good on it - and there are no long holes!!!! ;D And deffo keep the longest drive and nearest the pin - that was ace - Lastly Ban the digital cameras

I think last year was spot on(apart from Pilch leaving messages in the Bunkers ) Everything you put above is correct Ant, Meole is just right for everyone. Would be nice if the Telford lads could get a fourball up, or are they all fishermen Will there be a Quiz, after. If so I will start watching Question of Sport

Ant, count me in for the golf day, i think Meole would be appropriate for this "type" of occasion. Could you check with the course to see if buggies are available just in case Ratcliffesghost deems to make an appearence.

All being well, I'll be putting in an appearance as well. However, I'm a bit worried about PorkyShrew talking about organising transport and being able to drink in the same sentence!

Good response so far. I think a quiz is a must and another raffle (they always seem to raise a lot of cash).
I'd hope that after the success of last year we'll get at least the same number of entrants. Can anyone remember how many teams there were in the end? I think it was 7 but I may be wrong.
