Newsletter (Called "In Touch" ) has just popped through my Door. LABOUR COUNCILLORS VOTE TO GIVE 7MILLION TO FOOTBALL CLUB - lead article. It argues that if the District Valuer Values the Ground at 7m by paying 14m they will be giving 7m to STFC, "A PRIVATE COMPANY!!!" Anti private enterprise Tory Properganda What happened to Thatcherism. Nice photo of Albie trying to read some graffiti though. Luckily he's got our prospective Tory MP with him to translate it

although I would question voting for a group of people who...
1) consistently tried to undermine the good reputation of the club's football fans - Lord / Fox / Banks 2) obviously told lies about the figures being quoted - that £7 million was to build a sports village owned by the council, how could that be given to the football club? 3) continually call the integrity of our directors into question 4) make really daft suggestions about a community use stadium trying to push the football club into a corner, take our only asset and then make money from us
now actually in local government (borough level) in Shrewsbury at the moment there are not many issues more important for me
and for me the future of my football club is fairly high on my agenda

I was rather curious to see if the Local torie website had any interesting quotes, or if I could find a link to this " In Touch " thing, although it gets through my door every now and then, I get a different version. ( its soft, strong and thouroghly absorbent ;D ) I logged on to find it hasnt been updated since may 2003, which I thought was pretty good considering the members havent been updated since the middle ages

As it turns out it was a cut price deal to the council. Another case of private companies subsidising local councils.
We'll get almost that much for the Meadow alone.

The total cost for the council of that deal could have been as low as £4 million once spare land was developed. How Albie Fox can claim it is subsidising the football club is beyond me how can we challenge what is an outright lie?

quote it and wright another letter into the star stating how this "respected" concillor is nothing but a liar. maybe if 20 of us write letters the star will publish one of them? in a small box next to a massive press release from SARA?
