They got hammered so it hardly helped. Maybe they should have booed!!! (Joke, before anyone has a go...)

The post match comments showed that the opposition noticed the fact that they were being supported well, and had everyone encouraging them. Rather a team noticed that when Town were behind than have a wry smile on their face when they hear the boos.....just my opinion

It was Arsenal's Thierry What's-his-name?- the French guy who scored the first goal who remarked about the Pompey supporters, wasn't it? The support from the Portsmouth fans was heart-warming, touching, even. Bless them! Booing? Sometimes justified, I think. Any team that plays their socks off and shows 100% commitment deserves that kind of support. But a team shouldn't take the fan's loyalty for granted- and play with a couldn't-care-less- we'll- get- paid-anyway attitude. And sometimes booing refs is MORE than justified!

we could learn from that. if we all sung it would boost the team, rather than the miserable buggers complaining with every missed pass.

Portsmouth have always been renowned for their fanatical supporters but they also probably knew that their team was no match for a side who are probably the best team the Premiership has ever seen, could you really see the Riverside singing along happily if we were 5-0 down to Leigh? Their support towards Harry Redknapp was fantastic as well.

I think Town fans sometimes get slated a little too much for their approach to supporting the Town. Remember the Sc***horpe game last season? We were down but the singing never ended. I have never seen such support. I also remember losing 4-0 at home to Cardiff, but the players got a standing ovation at full time (though we did end with 9 men!).
I think so long as the players give 100%, the fans won't be too critical. Booing of the 1st half against Telford and Scarborough was probably justified. We were not giving it our all and looked pretty poor.
