There is prestige with running a football club, and think about it, he is still quite young, got £40 million in the bank and is widely hated
living the quiet life in shropshire with the challenge of a football club could be his way of relaxing and leaving the past behind

Seeing as he has two other buisnesses to attend to, apart from matchdays how often Colin Poole will be in at the club during the week, a couple of mornings or afternoons? I always presumed he had a soft spot for us, we always have more exposure in Axcess than Telford do but he does have a dodgy history and it does concern me a little....

anyone who's got £40m in his back pocket is going to have some dodgy history. I can't see any downside in it at the moment, and the way he's talking about the New Meadow seemed encouraging.
Now if Cllr Fox was going to invest/join the Board I would be worried.

I'm probably reading too much into this, but what opportunities are there to increase non-match day income unless we are at the new ground?
So isn't this appointment a sign that the new ground will happen soon and Mr Poole's task is to prepare a business plan for New Meadow non-matchday activities?
Someone with his legal, business and financial clout is surely going to make a difference to the situation.
A final thought, he could afford to buy Gay Meadow and wait for it to be developed, meanwhile we would have the money to build the New Meadow.

ok, my thoughts only, not rumour.
Mr Poole will buy otley road site, and ensure we get new stadium, the rest of the land he will develop from his own pocket and reap the rewards which if this happens all the best to him, and also let us keep keep the meadow and the club can develop that- sell however it wishes, we get loads of money to fund us into a Div 1 team within 7 years..............
