With Bavo leaving soon i thought i'd share a little story. . Last season in the 4-0 home win V Stafford Rangers in the FA cup, the ball ran wide of our goal and landed by a rather round photographer. Bavo was infuriated with the lack of politeness shown by the Photog. and in a lack of self control he uttered the words "Get off your chair you lazy c***!" This i thought was rather amusing that a person who is payed to fetch balls, and run around is calling photographers lazy! Though i quickly realised that this was out of order and joined in the the fellow Wakeman-enders in giving him 15 minutes of stick. Rather disgraceful attidute shown by him there, but improved leaps and bounds until that horrible error V Macclesfield, cracking player though! Dont go to Wr*x*am Bavo please!

Prehaps its just me but this is bizzare......were giving away players to clubs in higher divisions than us.....Now surley if other managers can see he is actually a good keeper then why can we not....should imagine this will happen to tolley junior soon also......

its probably more to do with how much he likes him rather than how much he rates him, i think quinny likes Rioch

If Chico wasn't there, then Rodgers wouldn't play either....

Can anyone, honestly, hand on heart, say that Dunbavin is a better goalkeeper than Scott Howie? I'll be absolutely shocked if Dunbavin proves me wrong and makes it in division two.

There's not a great deal between the two in my opinion

I rate Bavo higher than some on this board an excellent shot stopper but a liability on crosses however if he can get fixed up with Wrexham good luck to him certainly I think its time to bring Joe Hart onto the bench and 3 keepers is one too many Injury apart Bavo has no chance of 1st team football

It makes you think though with first Jagielka and now Dunbavin going to higher divisions that some players are just taking the club for a ride.If they are that good why have they not shown it on a more regular basis.

How many times has Jags played for Sheffield?
Wrexham fans didn't rate Cartwright, so goodness knows what they'll make of Bavo.

Come to think of it there cannot be many goalkeepers of Dunbavin's age who have made so many first team appearances.

from what i have heard he is a clown off the field as much as he is on it and a distraction to other players
i can't think of one area where bavo is better than howie (exept maybe dribbling and crossing) ;D
only once last season was he the difference between a win and a draw (exeter home first game)
i've seen every game this season and howie has been 100% alert and time after time he keeps pulling off great saves
bavo may come back and haunt us, it has happened before, but at this time in my opinion getting rid of him can't come soon enough

How much Pilch loves Bavo you cant say fairer than that. Howie is the better keeper.
Think to yourself, how many times since Howie arrived have you questioned our keeper?

Dont think many would question the fact that Howie is better than Bavo - some of the saves Scott's pulled off in the last few games have been brilliant. One of the more consistent players.
My worry is what happens if Howie is injured - we're either going to have to call in a keeper on loan or play Joe Hart, which might be unfair chuckin him in at the deep end, especially if its vital we dont concede many when going for playoffs etc.
How old is he anyhow - 18 or so I'd guess?

Just been speakin to my shrewsbury mate bout Bavo and he don't rate him. I watched him in the cup aganist Chelsea (on Tv) and thought he had a good game. Seems opnion on here is divided. With our finicial problems we were never going to get a league keeper but I'm quite pleased we signed him. How on earth did Coco get ahead of him if hes any good at all! Thats what worries me! p.s how old is he???

He's 23 He had a mare last season, hence Cartwright getting the nod, but wasn't at all bad the season before and he's not half as bad as some people on here will tell you he is If he gets his confidence back and gets a good run in your side you may well see the best of him, fabulous shot stopper, average kicker, can be dodgy on crosses P.S. he's bezzy mates with Gerrard so if he does play for you expect a few sightings of SG down the Racecourse as he's been to several of our games to watch Bavo

Our main keeper Dibble is gettin on a bit now, mid 30's and hes getting a lot of injuries. We sold a keeper to Sheffield United in the summer and we've got a 20 year old in the welsh under 21's whos a good keeper. I think it will be quite a good signing for us. Not to worry about crosses, we got Dennis Lawerence hes taller then everyone else by about 8 foot! lol ;D. Getting Gerrard down to the Racecourse will be a good thing to. Maybe we'll get a few more fans!!!! P.S. I don't remember much about that Chelsea game just the fact that Bavo kept you in the game and made some good stops. He was at Liverpool to so he can't be that bad

Could I suggest you stick him in a "grow-bag", because one of his most obvious problems, is that he is a couple of inches too short, to be a top quality keeper. You will notice, when defending corners, that it is difficult to spot him, in a crowded penalty area amongst giant strikers and defenders. I would agree that he is a good, instinctive shot-stopper, but the worry there, is that not many of them stick.
