Well done my son.
People will say he over reacted, but how can that bloke who ran on the pitch claim to be a fan?

Nothing should happen to Walker over this one, but then again the FA are capable of anything!

Brain Clough did the same thing years ago. They rounded up the fans that ran on the pitch that Cloughie cuffed and they had to kiss Brain and say sorry. Classic ;D

Seem to recall a few years back that, in a South American game, a fan -maybe it was a player - threatened the ref who pulled out a gun and shot him in self-defence!
Anyone remember it ?

now thats whats lacking in the english game, a contreversy is a bad off side call, we need shootings and physical assaults to spice the game up?

Ian Walker would have been applauded if he had restrained himself (like Enckleman did against Brum) but no one can blame him for what he did, especially if your team has just gone three nil down and one of your own team's 'supporters' walks onto the pitch to probably tell you that 'youre ****ing s**t' in front of your face.

the bloke ran on the pitch, should be punished, but if the ref and players hadn't got there, Walker might well have kicked 7lumps of cow dung out of him. Townsend got it right when he said walker was obviously taking out some of his frustration. Thats wrong.
Did Peter Enkleman react that way when he had made a serious **** up and had brum fans in his face calling him a w****r? Lord knows what Walker would have done in that situation.
2 wrongs don't make a right. The bloke should be band from football grounds for X amount of time, and Walker should be punished-banned or either fined.

So Rob, when you have a guy in your face and it seems likt he is going to lamp you, do you just stand there and take it? Walker pushed the tw@t away, tw@t fell over. Tw@t escored from pitch and is charged. End of story.

He didnt just push him away. He pushed him a number of times, and pushed him in the face. In no way did he look threatening. And just because I'd do the same doesnt make it right

you're right Daz. You can't expect to confront someone and then have them stand there and take it. I'm fed up with people getting in trouble when they have done nothing wrong (in this country in general) and Walker did what almost anyone would have done. He defended himself, and nobody got hurt.

anyone who comes onto the field of play has to be regarded as dangerous. Lates face it, if they are prepared to get themselves arrested then it isn't beyond the real of fantasy for him to raise a fist.
I did go today Daz, only missed the one home game this season, Wish I hadn't spent £12 watching that though!
I'm hoping for a home game against anyone outside the conference top 10. This is a good chance to earn a few quid and have a good day out at Villa Park!

I wouldn't say I am looking forward to Woking. The performances this season have been quite poor and Woking arn't a bad team. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but at least the cup is a pleasant distraction!

One thing tho', did this bloke have raised fists? did he look menacing? No he had a bemused look on his face. Rob did you think he'd run on the pitch to give Ian Walker a kiss? I'm not one for violence but Walker is in the clear here. Too many times in this country do we see idiots like that 'supporter' get away with things like that.

I think the major talking point has to be the stewarding. Just how long was it before a Steward arrived on the scene???

Sorry lads, don't agree. If you cast you mind back to last season in the Brum V Villa match at St. Andrew's, a fan ran on and started to provoke Peter Enkleman, hand gestures- and as i recall the fan actually slapped the keeper aswell- anyway Peter Enckleman miracolously egnored the fan, and the situation was a lot calmer. The Leicster fan was verbally abusing Walker, but unlike the Brum fan he wasn't physcal, i counted that Walker shoved him at least 4 times, 2 when on the floor. If that had been done in the street he would be arrested for assult, so why is the fan being proscuted and not Walker?

I've just seen the incident for the first time, i think Ian Walkers going to be in trouble he was out of order. The ref ran the half the length of the pitch not a copper or steward in sight, wonder what else walker would have done to him if he had another 10/15 seconds

But the supporter isnt going to get away with it. he'll be fined and banned from the English football league grounds, he'll probably be charged and thus have to hand his passport in everytime England play. Walker as I have been trying to say went beyond the line. This fan wasnt running anywhere, he looked p**sed and looked as if he had problems standing, maybe push him over, but no need to push the bloke in the face when he is lieing on the ground, that is unnecessary force. The bloke will be punished, severely, but if he had pushed Walker over and continued pushing him, everyone would be argueing that he should be for the death penalty. P.S Walkers' a s**te keeper too with a crap haircut ;D, not that that matters
