I posted somthing similar about cramb after the nortwich game and got called a moaner and a whinger, but in the light of what i have read i was overtly positive.
I find for all the goals and positives that cramb brings to the club, his ability to look totally un- intrested gets me worked up. Yes you can say he scored 11 goals, it a sign of his ability, poor mans bergkamp??? what!!.
He always appears to play within himself, and never seems to stretch himeself for the team cause. I would that said still play him up front, with who not sure. Banim still finding his feet, darby needs to score, rogers appears to be struggling.
So i will go with rogers, but i belive that cramb would win more fans over if he changed his attitude a little and show a little sign that he enjoys and wants to be part of the club.

It is a fact that a lot of fans will favour a player who runs all over the pitch like a headless chicken and kicks a few people along the way.
The attitude seems to be that if you do not play like that you don't care about the result, team or club. This is common at lots of places, and at much higher levels than Shrewsbury.
Managers have to be strong and pick a balanced side, but I have a feeling JQ is going along with most of the posters on here and we will probably see Darby with Luke or Jody most of the time. I think it is a mistake, but time will tell. Perhaps we have to start looking at the providers rather than just changing the strikers all the time ?

Totally agree Scooter....alot of the trouble this season isnt "the strikers"................its the lack of service to them"............
Left flank lot better of late.............
Right flank very poor, unless Ryan has an inspired performance or last 10 minutes when he comes on...................
and support play from the midfield has been virtually non existent without Tolley, though thats probably improved with the Edwards coming in but he's 17 for Gods sake and is still one for the future...............

Right time to vent my spleen.
First off I want to say I am definatley AGAINST Colin Crambs involvement in the team.
I can understand why people would want to defend the man, I understand that he is the top goal scorer this season, but for me the negatives outweigh the positives with him.
My main sticking point with him is his attitude, I've read people on here say that just because he doesn't chase after hopeless balls and kick people it dosen't look like he's trying but that isn't the case. Its the fact that he dosen't seem interested in chasing any ball which isn't direcly to his feet (which lets be honest, you can't expect in the conference) or ever coming back over the half way line to lend a hand. Football is a team game.........he's a man playing it alone.
Also for all his goals you could probably times that by 8 for the amount of chances he's had. Whoever said he is like a lower league Andy Cole (and I don't mean in his Newcastle days) got it spot on. How many times this season must we see him weakly scuff a one-on-one into the arms of a grateful keeper or try an extravagent flick that sails over the bar when the simple finish would have gone in........and then score a tap in in the last minute to paper over the obvious cracks in his game.
Also calls for Cramb to be given a 'free role' or moans that he's not as good as he should be because we dont play all our football on the floor are crazy. We are Shrewsbury Town NOT Real Madrid. A certain amount of hoofball has to be expected as players at his level quite simply run out of ideas at times. I think all season I have only seen Cramb challenge for a header a handful of times and usually unsuccessefully. Someone should tell him backing in all the time only gets you booked. I've reached the end of my tether with a man who has quite clearly let all of this "poor mans dennis bergkamp" business go to his head (after all he's only called that because he looks a bit like him!).
Frankly I think people have been giving Darby too much stick as he hasn't been able to settle in the team due to some badly timed injuries and quinns ego (hang your boots up man!!). Darby and Rodgers up front for me.....goals goals goals! Give either of these two as many games as Cramb has played and I et they would have scored as many goals.
I could go on all night about the other reasons he isn't any good but quite frankly I've wasted enough of my time and effort on the man already.

I've been critical of cramb in the past & he does look like a luxury on occasions but he's still ahead the others for me. Darby has been a huge disappointment so far -I hope he finds his touch soon. Banim too early to tell but puzzled why we bought him after signing darby.
As for only scoring in the last 10 mins - well he scored the winner at accy, first goal at Tamworth & Leigh, crucial goals against Northwich and Hereford none of those were tap ins in the last 10 & he does winner headers because he's socred at least 2/3 with his head but obviously not a target man.
I'd like to see more consistency from him and a more direct approach sometimes but he's still Luke best partner for me.

In my opinion for a partnership to develop you have to be patient and give the two playing up front the time to forge an understanding with each other . Unfortuately we were in a position where the injury to Rogers upset the grand scheme of things. At the beginning of the season most supporters would have been happy with this pairing of Rogers/Cramb but now with the additions of Darby and Banim,we've become unsure of our best strike force. The problem as I see it is that each player has completely different attributes and therfore the game plan has to change from week to week to accomodate their strengths. This inconsistacy of not having a settled strike force may be the reason why we're not the leading marksmen in the league. The answer is therefore with the management team to decide which pairing is best suited to our game plan and stick with them, giving them the opportunity to foster a better understanding not only with each other but the rest of the team.
