Canvey if we beat Telford in the replay.
Two legs.

Not a great draw, but I'd rather have them than Aldershot, if only in the hope that we wont see as much crowd trouble at Canvey as we did at Aldershot.
Hednesford/Hornchurch would have been most ideal, but only if Hednesford beat Hornchurch, it'll be a tough tie, but hey, are they meant to be easy at that stage?
Who's got the home advantage first then?

Never like draws when you are not certain of being in the next round but possibly another adventure awaits. I was at a friend's wedding last year and passed the ground. I think they will be a force in the Conference next year.

not happy with that one in any way shape or form, would prefer first leg to be away. the pressure is all on us to build a lead in the first leg now.....

Any game in the semi's would be difficult. We need to worry about beating Telford first. However if we do beat them then it'll be a niceish trip for me in the second leg

Thinking about it again, IF we beat Telford and Canvey (Bowya, Bally take note lol), a Shrewsbury v Aldershot final would be superb (if there was no crowd disturbances of course), could see a sell out at Villa Park for that one between the best two supported sides in the Conference.
I've lost count of how many League and Conference sides Canvey have beaten in cup competitions (they beat Chester 4-0 over two legs in the semis the first season after they went down) so we could actually make some history as the first Conference side to beat them?

I've provisionally cancelled the mini bus for Hereford (If we lose to Telford, we will still require it for Hereford). They are holding it for us until March 16th when we will know who, where, when we are playing teams. If we do win the replay I have provisionally booked a bus for April 3rd and the away leg. This season is all getting very complicated!!

Have you been to Villa Park lately, or was sell out a typo ?
It would be a sell out at the Bescot but not Villa Park

At least I will be spared a trip to Canvey. If we beat Telford I am on holiday for the second leg.

You never know about the sell out, would be quite ironic if two conference sides could get a full house when a Premiership side can't.
It is a tough draw, but we have to beat Telford first, and it is the semi-finals, so nothing is easy.

With the Barnet game now having to be re-arranged, playing the semis will give us a monumental fixture pile-up, at the most vital time of our most vital quest (ie getting promotion).
Anybody else feel we'd be better off not going through?

I think that the avoidance of Aldershot in the semis is a good thing for either side.
I would say that there is more chance of beating those buggers in a one-match knock-out scenario than over two legs. I should imagine they could have one off game, but I don't think they will have two.

If we get through Baafly it'll be down to a good result at Telford, lets keep the momentum going mate...

A sell out a villa park schizo -have you been drinking? 40000 plus? No conference teams would manage that.

I think an Aldershot v Shrewsbury final would get a crowd of around 30,000. Loads of Aldershot fans come up for the England v Italy. From what I gather the final kicks off at 4.05 p.m. on the Sunday. I've started thinking about the fianl today, and that is so dnagerous, because beating Telford and Canvey will not be easy. You'd think I would have learned from Carlisle last season.

Have you been to Villa Park lately, or was sell out a typo ? It would be a sell out at the Bescot but not Villa Park I dont see why Town and Aldershot couldnt take 20,000 each to this game, I sometimes laugh at Kickinpretty's over-optimistic crowd predictions but I genuinely think a Shrews-Aldershot final would fill Villa Park, or if it wouldnt, then there would be no more than 5,000 empty seats there. Capacity of Villa Park is 46,000 isnt it?

I'd have thought around a Shrews Aldershot final would attract around 25,000 myself. But we have got to beat two decent sides first!

There were 12,000 Tamworth fans at the last final, which is very impressive. There were not many Burscough fans though (it is a small town / village though!).

All the data is on thefa.com I think

Can only find out the record attendance from thefa.com, 34,842 for Wycombe v Kidderminster in 1991.
Shrewsbury and Aldershot are two very well supported sides (for non-league level at least) with good histories in the Football League, and if Tamworth (average crowd no more than 1,200?) can take 12,000......
Nowt wrong with a little optimism, and at the end of the day a cup final is a cup final, if we get to Villa Park (or the Britannia Stadium too for thatr matter) I will try and drag along family who havent seen Town for years and I'd like to think everyone else would......

Anybody else feel we'd be better off not going through? That was how I felt before Saturday, but now I see no chance of us catching Chester, so we should get enough points to stay in top 5 and still make Trophy Final (if we can beat Telford)
