Been off the board for a couple of days so apologies if this has already been covered Was impressed enough with Murphs he is quick and his movement off the ball is good and delighted he has recovered so well from his injury, but while Iam sure he could step up a division he is certainly not going to be another Luke Rodgers as was claimed on this board over the summer indeed since I am unusual in being a fan of all our forwards I am no longer too dissapointed we let him go What did anyone else think?

Played out of position - like Lowe he is a striker not a midfielder

Has played 'in the hole behind the front two' with alot of success this season, scoring ten goals. Enjoying a real purple patch of scoring goals just before his injury. And all these goals were scored playing in this 'vogue' position. Personally i thought he did ok Saturday but the booing again when he was substituted was needless and uncalled for.

errr shakey - remember he does play for our main rivals and did leave us to go there - booing him is expected and not a problem - i hope its upset him and dented his confidednce for the next 2 games against them

I thought we were a little quick to get rid of him at the time but with our current crop of strikers he would be well down the pecking order - fifth or (probably) sixth choice.

Two differing opinions there Pricey So why is it expected Can't see how booing him will dent his confidence. If he isn't fired up to play against the team 'that released him' then he shouldn't be playing professional football and he didn't leave us out of choice, we released him And do you honestly think booing players really affects them IMO thought we should have kept him. He has developed and improved as a player and could have been a good addition to our squad.

Its expected cos he plays for TELFORD Dont get me wrong shakey -I liked Murphy - when he played for this club - but he dont no more and whats worse he plays for "the lot" down the road - thus he will get booed thats the way it is!!! Im starting to think this board has gone soft - being nice to Telford players and there fans - They are the enemy and i cant bring myself to say anyting nice about anything related to them I cant be the only one And no it rarley effects players but it makes them aware of fans reactions! I think he would cause us problems if played up front at the bucks head so i hope he is unfit to play or played out of position like on sat - i just have the intrests of the club i support at heart

Having watched him most of the season he is a very promising youngster.
I agree entirely with Shakey; he is best when employed in the hole or on the wing. I don't think he has the presence to play in the centre of the park and he isn't really an out and out striker either.
I would say that he is a very good squad addition, worthy of a regular place when on form and handy to have on the bench too. He is not the world-beater a few people were claiming back in October time, but he has plenty of time to develop.

I think both him and Edwards need toughening up to be competative at this level, both have bags of skill and ability but look flimsy next to bigger opponents.
I think that this will come in time and they will both be better players for it, but they don't deserve to be in the first 11 for there respected teams in the next match.
I quiet liked Craig Stanley for Telford though, he certainly knows how to mix it up but certainly cannot take it it back.

Hey Pricey, nobody has gone soft on this board.
This thread could open up another debate. Just remember that its one game that we all love and one team (for most) that we have our passion for. Because others don't share the same passion (the opposite) for your team doesnt make them any less of a person.
The same goes for players. By booing them or worse (venting your spleen in such a vitriolic way) just makes them want to enjoy it more when they do well against you. As supporters we want it all ways.
Dislike all things Telford Pricey mate, it's your choice and your opinion and i respect that. And thats the important thing, Respect. All to often when respect is lost, it all breaks down.
Oh yea and as JP rightly said, Murph is a great lad.

A skillful player with a definite eye for goal but I would rather have Luke and Banim. Small is not an issue if you are skillful and/or fast but Murphy seems small and not very strong which may limit his progress- did you see the way Sedge shoulder charged him into touch in the second half.

I had forgotten he was on until they said he was being subbed.
I thought Stanley stood out in their midfield, he could be a good signing.

Murphs is an excellent prospect - and a quality lad.
He's no way a finished article, but I think when Mills returns he'll return to his good form. They go well, and he feeds off Mills.

If he carries on doing well he can re-join us when we go back into the football league ... he'd be a good squad player.

However good he is and turns out to be, there was little hoice for him other than to leave STFC in the summer.
he needed first team football of some sort and he certanly wasnt going to get that here. I mean when you have a striker as good as Lowe stuck playing out wide, it says it all...
good luck to the lad tho' (except for when TUFC play us)

With reference to the debate between Shakey and Gpricey, why is it 'soft' to have respect for other people and behave sportingly?
