Is it true he's from Hednesford? Anyone know why he got involved with Telford United?

he is actually from cannock, his company Miras sponsored Hednesford for a few seasons, he asked to become chairman, but they said no, hednesford had recently rebuild keys park and had a good run in the fa cup, holding middlesboro? i think, things looked good for them then, so he walked away taking his money and ideas to telford, and hednesford dropped out of the conference

Cheers for the info...
I did wonder why he didn't put his money into Hednesford Town, as someone who has watched and supported the Pitmen from an early age me thinks the club may have made a mistake...as, to be honest, I can't see Hednesford making it back into the Conference for a good while yet...
Hednesford certainly had a purple patch back then mind, a place in the Conference and a cracking run in the Cup that ended in that narrow defeat to Boro up on Teesside. If memory serves me correct there was 6,000 fans following the Pitmen at the Riverside that night...

A bit of trivia Stutty - which player who played in that game at Middlesborough would later go on to play for STFC?

And of course it is not out of the question that Hednesford could yet play us or Telford later on in the FAT

Cooksey's a good guess!!
I really don't want the Town to play Hednesford, I'd hate that big time. If we Town go through I hope Hednesford go out and visa-versa...

Scott Cooksey it was.
And a fine waste of £15,000 he turned out to be!

He had a run-in with the board at Hendesford after alledgedly threatening to blow the lid on dodgy dealings so he pulled his money
He then looked at the Town before going to Telford but was put off by the debt and that fact that the old boys on the board basically told him to **** off.
Would have been good at the Meadow because he gets things done and doesnt take any s**t and is actually a nice bloke

It certainly would have been interesting to see where our position today would have been if Andy Shaw us over, I suppose we may mock Telford fans for the fact that he 'may pull the plug on it all' one day but he's experienced quite a few ups and downs at Telford already and still seems committed to the cause, I would like to see Telford in the League one day, but ONLY if they wait for us to go up first, or if we go up together
