I dont knok what or where street can do or go next, so lets start with the facts
He cannot play Right Wing effectivly (nor left wing) and Lowe and Edwards should and probabley are ahead of him in this position presuming everyones fit
He can play central midfield but again unless we get some players out who are ahead of him Tolly, Edwards, Martin, Sedgemore (cramb) all who can play his central midfield role he aint gonna play much
He is not effective and never has been as a sub (unlike lowe)
So basically he is just squad cover!!! and my point is - hes on loan Till 2005 - cant we send him back and get a left back in (sorry sedge i like you but i beilve a left back has to be left footed) or is that against the rules of the FAs transfer policy
Whats the general consensus of Street cos after the last few weeks and last night many fans were slagging him off and his confidence seems to have totall drained away (i though he was good in the first few games but im not sure now)

Disappointing but he'll come good.
The knocks are going to come thick and fast over the next 2 months and he'll be needed to start games.
Good luck to him.

Streety is still quality He's a good squad player and he can get stuck in. Personally I would have him in at LB ahead of Sedge at least Street knows he has a left foot.

The ShrewsWeb commentary team certainly don't like him...

The future for him in the short term is on the training ground trying to master the art of putting away 6 yard tap-ins. I Know he had only just come on but BLOODY HELL!!!Once you can forgive but twice...............

Don't understand how Quinn considers him to be ahead of Glenn Tolley and Ian Fitzpatrick for the wide right position

I'm glad you all started this thread, because I have been following Street since his Crewe days and have been wondering where he will wind up. Does seem unfortunate that he will have trouble winning the start at the position he should play--central midfield. He's not a winger, but he is such a good squad player that many mangers (like JQ) would have him around to plug the holes. I'd hope he gets to play league football again, and I was hoping it would be with Shrewsbury, but maybe it is not to be.
What is his real status? I didn't realize that he was on loan from Rovers--thought it was a straight transfer.

It's not a loan, he was a permanent signing from Bristol Rovers
He's obviously a big favourite of Quinn's but I think it's fair to say he hasn't convinced a large proportion of the fans yet

I've not been able to get to most of the recent Town games, but from what I have seen Street is worth persevering with.
(1) He is one of those places who seems to pop in goalscoring positions when you don't really expect him too. A bit like Freddie Ljungberg (I'll not take that comparison too much further though, don't worry!). Put this another way, he ends up in positions where he SHOULD score because he's reading the game well. The fact that he has missed a fair few chances of late is not so good, of course, but he has also got a handful of goals too this season (and that last minute equaliser at Leigh might well prove to be very important come April).
(2) When he plays in the centre, he is good enough to link play together and set our dashers away. He is more agile and versatile than O'Connor and although O'Connor is a better passer, Street can play those 10/15 yard balls that often go unnoticed. He is certainly of more value to the side than, say, Mark Atkins was for the whole of last season (sorry to his fans on this board ... !).
(3) He puts his foot in and has a good work ethic. This seems to get over-looked by the boo-boys and - as we all know - some people really are only happy when they are booing someone, and Street seems to have slipped into that category a bit. He reminds me a bit of David Tong actually.
(4) He can fit in in a number of positions. Sure, he is not a right-winger - but he is also not an unmitigated disaster there and if we suddenly have an injury crisis (which is more than plausible given the number of games were going to be playing) he could come into his own.

Good points to PPP and Brummie. Since I'm in the States (a WAY away streetfan) I only see/hear the commentary, which is not always as enlightening as being in the stands. But what I have noticed is that Street is one of those players who can hold it together when the rest of the squad is in bad form. Same thing happened at Rovers. Unfortunately, it does not always follow that Street performs as well when the team is doing well

I for one believe the future is bright for Street. He is quality and it amazes me that people cant see it. Yes he missed those sitters but the point is he was there. He is quick versitile and reads the game superbly. Dont get on his back the same way as some have unbeliveably critised Colin Cramb. Both Cramb and Street are quality.

The Telford fans voted Street their MOM after the recent derby at GM
I can only hope we see more of that kind fo showing, because at that game he was outstanding, but has struggled in others

I just think he needs a consistant run in the team to get the best out of him.
Playing him in whatever position is vacant every now and then is no good

would it be wrong to compare him to Dean Peer? I mean how many goal scoring positions did Peer get himself into and miss?
