Everyone(newspapers, fans etc) keeps saying how we can't be expected to make the play offs this year as it is a brand new team and the first season thay have all played together. So why don't people say this about your side? Saturday you only had 2 players that started from last season, so maybe your fans expect too much from a virtually new side?

Exactly what I've been saying bally.
However, I would still expect us to make the playoffs even with a non-gelled team due to the weakness of the league we're in.

Good point Bally,I wasn't expecting to see the best of Town till after Christmas so to still be in touch with the top at this stage is encouraging.Just wish we would improve our away form though, but at least we have not lost to a duff team yet unlike Telford did with Farnboro and Northwich,we seem to scrape draws with the dross and play badly. That may be the sign of a good team or maybe we just aren't good enough.Only time will tell.

but you did draw with Leigh and Tamworth and besides you haven't played Northwich at home or Farnboro away yet .i would also think our record against the top few teams is as good if not better than yours?

Ok,
C = Conference match.
Telford scores against the top team:
Home C (lost ) 2-5 Aldershot Town
Away C (lost )1-2 Hereford United
Away C (drawn) 0-0 Chester City
Away C (lost)0-2 Barnet
Home C (won )2-0 Exeter City
Shrewsbury's scores against the top teams:
Away C (lost ) 2-1 Chester City (grrrr)
Away C (drawn) 1-1 Aldershot Town
Home C (lost) 1-0 Barnet
Home C (won) 1-4 Hereford
Away C (lost) 3-2 Exeter City
Next stop telford.
I predict the score to be three 1.
Banim scoring on the half hour mark. Then cramb to stick another on in just before half time. Darby fincishes the game off with a 25 yard volley.

It took me a few minutes to work out where this thread was going - couldn't quite get the gist of it. Then I had a flash of inspiration and looked at the dates of posting! R.G. If you've got nothing better to do than trawl through messages more than twelve months old, then your Christmas break has definitely been too long, and it's time you went back to work
