Just a thought but what do the people think of an off topic board? It's been suggested to me by a couple of people recently as there are a lot of o/t postings on here which tend to push the football messages down and onto the second page.
Obviously the negatives to this is that it may alienate some of the postings which would be a bad idea.
What do you think?

A trivia and puzzle board may be a good idea also?

I think it works pretty well at the moment ant!
But as long as it does not slow the main board down i doubt that many would have a problem with it

Personally i think leave as is, if you're a member you can easily flick to page 2 and check what hasn't been read yet.
Can we not extend the maximum threads per page?

Sounds good Ant, but where do you draw the line. Some OT threads turn into football threads and vice-versa

valid points from all.
Proboards are due to be upgrading soon and will be extending the threads per page which will help.
There is a lot of silly, o/t stuff that gets posted and a lot of FAO messages which could be saved by sending private messages too.
That said Harmerhill is right that a lot of o/t stuff merges into football stuff and vicer-verser

We quite often get 2 0r 3 threads covering the same topics ie Darby & Cramb. In my opinion the Off Topic threads adds a bit of fun to the board. I also think it will alienate some posters on here.
Leave it as it is!

I agree with bilbo about 3-5 thread covering the same topic but there is little that you could do to curb that - apart from the regulars post definitive thrads on big talking points and pin them to the top eg last week a darby thread could have been pinned and would ahve stoped dupication to a certain extent
What about every monday there is a topic of the week based on the last games fall out which could be pinned at the top also!!!! just an idea

Cheers for the replies to date.
Are there any non-regulars who have any thoughts on this too?

I wouldn't call myself a regular but I do come on from time to time (mainly to abuse Pricey!) I'd say leave it as it is as it is. It adds a bit of fun to the board as someone else said because otherwise everyone gets bogged down in Gregor bashing and the Cramb-Darby debate! It also lets everyoone get to know eachother a bit better, know what I mean?

Leave well alone, the only time multiple boards work are for help boards such as for computer help etc.
I absolutly hate having to switch boards for different subjects.
