Saw it earlier, absolute farce.
The ref tried to claim the ball was last played off a Lincoln player, which it wasn't, quite blatantly I feel.
There is a line between making a mistake and outright cheating, and I think that ref crossed it big time.

Im sure the Soccer Sunday boys managed to talk about the offside rule for another 3 hours again like last week.
In fairness its a good program on a sunday as the 2 guys and guests cover every thing in a sensible and entertaining was (unlike jimmy hills sunday suplement - which is annoying )

If it came off the lincoln player it doesnt matter that the huddersfirld striker was standing in an offside position.

The linesman flagged for offside. All the players stopped. The player who scored only knocked the ball in as an act of petulance!
How could the ref possibly justify defying all this evidence? It was BLATANT that the Lincoln player didn't get anywhere near the ball!

Why don't you lads go and be refs then and show everyone how it's done?

I have been a ref. My first and only game ended after 25mins with me telling the teams that they were so sh!te that it was beneath me to be on the same field as them.

I never said it was right ant. But as the ref makes the decisions, if feel the ball came of a Lincoln players head, he is unlikey to flag the Huddersfield striker as offside.
He was probably wrong, but at least there was some method to his madness.

davefromalty, I gather this was an under 14's game was it? Does make me chuckle supporters having a pop at refs, if they think they could do better they should get themselves sorted and start reffing...that would sort everything out wouldn't it?

How do you mean criticise our kid? I'll defo say that a ref got a decision wrong but I'm not going to have a go at the lad for doing so, he plays it as he sees it...I didn't lambaste the ref when he gave us a peno versus Morecambe, just said it were the wrong decision. Just think people make too much out of it, that’s all...suggesting a ref is cheating?
Some of us are a little more relaxed and understanding about these things our kid...that's not so surprising is it? Not one to have a pop our kid, I'm not one to rant and rave at the football or on here afterwards with regards the ref. I don't go into the ref was crap, he was awful, he cheated, he lost us the game etc. etc. malarkey...

I also think it's ridiculous to suggest a referee cost a side a game of football (with extremely rare exceptions to that rule ) I also believe they give decisions as they see them but that doesn't make them right, or above criticism.
