Does the signing of banim mean Luke is defernarltly leaving, if Luke is sold i for one will be very disapointed because he is a class player and will be sorely missed

No it doesnt, but I doubt Jody is signing just to sit on the bench. Luke is without doubt a class act, but his talents are too good for this league and he deserves to run better defenders ragid than he faces for us.

Hopefully he is the longer term replacement for Rodgers, not the immediate replacement, but I don't think anyone would now be surprised to see Rodgers go in the next month or two.
I'd like to see Banim eased in gently with a couple of reserve games and substitute appearances, the lad is sure to already being feeling quite a weight of expectation due to the fee etc, so we shouldn't expect too much too soon.

If Rodgers is sold what does that mean for the ticket prices after the board said they had to keep up the prices in order to keep rodgers and tolley?

Cramb, Darby,O'Connor,Tinson, Howie, Aiston,Street,Tolley and half a season of Luke justify the prices we have to pay to get into games.

Firstly the board specifically mentioned ticket prices had to stay the same to keep rodgers and tolley.
Secondly £12 for this standard of football is a joke anyway, even with rodgers, tolley etc

No they didnt. They said it was to keep their better players at the club, they didnt mention Luke nor Jamie.
At the end of the day we cant stop Luke nor anyone else from leaving or progressing to a higher level. Its their career's at the end of the day.

Weve been through the £12 issue in the summer. Quite simple if you dont like it dont pay it.its entirely upto you.

'Firstly the board specifically mentioned ticket prices had to stay the same to keep Rodgers and Tolley.'
Yep, agreed...I would like to see Rodgers stay at Shrewsbury Town and (as far as I am aware) because Town supporters have been asked to pay £12 to watch football at the Meadow there is no reason for him to be sold. Unless there is something we do not yet know?
'Secondly £12 for this standard of football is a joke anyway, even with Rodgers, Tolley etc'
I've only seen the odd game on tele but I can't argue with that our kid...£12 is way too much for this level (and standard) of football. Where do we stand in comparison with other Conference clubs, do we charge the highest admission prices?

Pilch, that is partly my point. The board should not have said they were "freezing" prices in order to keep those players. We all knew that even if those players had been sold pre season there would have been no reduction in prices.
Also for whoever said about if you dont like it dont pay it, what sort of reply is that? I don't like it but as a shrewsbury fan I will pay it. I feel it is fair though to say it is too much for the standard of football we see every week.

I sais dont like dont pay it, because its too late to do anything about it now. Something really should have been done in the summer, but look at it another way. The club have kept Tolley, Rodgers, Aiston etc and added Cramb,Tinson,O'Connor, Banim etc They have added quality, but it has taken a while to really gel.

I don't like it but as a shrewsbury fan I will pay it. I feel it is fair though to say it is too much for the standard of football we see every week. you pay £12 a week to see the best home record. You see a better home record than any other team int he league. You go somewhere else and pay less and they do worse at home. Your call! It's the poor beggars who go away who have seen the real dross this season! I pay my money, Jimmy spends it, and he s spending it well so far, so I am happy with that As for Luke going, it is not about the board, promises, us, ticket prices, or anything like that, it is about a brilliant young footballer who has beena good servant to our football club being given a chance to prove himself at a higher level I can't ask that my £12 a week costs Luke £40,000 a year in wages and prevent shim from achieving his dreams of making it in the big time I know my place in this weird world of football, Luke has been amazing for us and we should be grateful to have seen such talent at our poxy little club and wish him all the best and not stand in his way Radcliffe gave Banim the chance, we should with Luke, it isn't just about money, it is about the life of a brilliant young footballer

I can see where your coming from TBH but I'm a tad more selfish than that...I want what's best for Shrewsbury Town and not what's best for Luke Rodgers. He's under contract and he has already said he is happy to remain here...I think the Town have a much better chance of promotion if Rodgers remains with us...and I really do not wish to see him leave...

Yes. But on the other hand quinn has signed people before to play in the stiffs.
A month of full time training first of all I think.

Banim's only stepping up one division and he's 25 years old, not some 16-year-old. I don't see why he shouldn't be in contention pretty quickly for a place on the bench at least...
