We haven't had this for a while so what's everyone reading at the moment?
I'm reading the third in a series of books called the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan.
The books are very long but fantastic, in many ways they have a style like Lord of the Rings - but they are so much more intelligent. It's real escapism and like it ;D

Can't wait for the film so I won't read the book first (it'll spoil it knowing what happens ) I'm just finished reading 'Stupid White Men' by Michael Moore. It certainly gives you an in-depth view into G W Bush and just how he was 'elected' into power. But hey I guess he'd argue that there should be no discrimination in this World - so it's a positive sign that someone with a criminal record, a past history of alcohol abuse and someone who didn't actually win the election is allowed to be President

I'm reading
"Born in Blood and Fire: A Complete History of Latin America" by John Charles Chasteen
Not the sort of book I'd plump for usually but it is very precise, and iteresting, his style of historical writing is friendly and readable.
next up: "Guerrilla Warfare" by Che Guevara.

"Rosalind Franklin - The Dark Lady of DNA". A present from Gosling's son (he that took the picture of the alpha helix, revealing the structure to Watson & Crick). Started it twice but thwarted by time constraints. It will be finished. I know a bit serious.....but why not.

You'll know what Gosling did for imaging techniques then LS! I was at a dinner with the chap - Mr S&R knew him - and when it came out who his dad was I was dumbstruck as a Physiology graduate! Mr S&R knew what he did, but didn't realise how significant it was! He's offered to come down to the school and talk to my students - now that's what I call unbelievable!

That's fantastic, he is an incredibly clever bloke and as you say did a lot for imaging techniques - those techniques are now trying to be improved and used further.

Ant, that it is a good read. I suggest you get your hands on some of his other material.
His new book " dude, Wheres my country" is also a class read. I imagine you have seen his film Bowling for Columbine too?
