Wrexham are in the shíte financially www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/publish/article_9049.shtmlBut I still find it amazing that Mr Gutterman was allowed to join the Wrexham board after his help in Chester's near financial ruin just a few years ago. Should a manager do a rubbish job the World knows about it and their chances of getting another is limited - but this doesn't quite seem the case with Mr Guterman and his managerial experience of football league clubs.

I hope they can get things sorted out, a football world without Wrexham wouldnt seem right.

Mr Guterman says they need crowds of 6,500 ;D
They have NEVER had crowds that big.
I think after next week that 'pub team' down the A5 from Wrexham, play in blue and amber, will have a higher home league average attendance than the red shirted ones.
How they must yearn for the mighty Shrews away support.
What was it last season? 1,200? to watch a team heading out of the league.

Just under 2,000 I think but Im being picky!
A much as I dislike them you don't want to see any club going out of business.
It does make you appreciate the job Wycherly has done getting our finances sorted.......when he took over wasn't our break even figure 6,000 whereas nowadays its about 3,000 I think. Im always sceptical of the chairman who appear to be shining knights but have infact been at loads of different clubs and messed up at all of them

About the Chester finance fiasco wasn't some guy going to sue them for kicking him off the board or something? I read something like that but don't quote me on that I'm not sure...
hope wrexham get back on their feet.

As a Leeds fan (and employee!) as well as a Salop fan I've seen at first hand a club make a financial mess of itself and as always its the supporters who get hurt the most. I hope the game comes out of the current financial crisis without any clubs lost to debt but I'm not hopeful.
I for one am starting to come around to the argument for regional lower divisions (below the 1st), in order to maintain the full-time status that Peter Kenyon seems to think is impossible for so many clubs to maintain.

I don't think regional leagues are likely. The Conference is national, and is planning a second division that will be national, I think.
The high costs are due to wages, not travelling costs. Clubs just have to live within their means, and I hope we still can if we fail to get back up this season.

Too right Scooter.
Plus for sides like ourselves (if we get back in the league) and other midlands based clubs how would regionalisation help?
It wouldn't.
We would still either face trips as far North as Carlisle/ Darlo/ H'Pool if in a Northern league or would face trips as far South as Torquay/ Plymouth/ Exeter in a Southern league.
Also it may be the case the we are in a different regional offering to Chester/ Wrexham for example - thus missing out on potential extra revenue from bigger derby day gate receipts.

what is with businessmen coming into football and trying to ruin it?
Surely the powers that be within a fotball club like wrexham should be able to budget much more sensibly than they do.
6,500 at home? you're having a laugh.
It's alweays the fans that suffer in the end, good luck to the reds supporters....
