Given the high profile of football memorabilia what are your most treasured/valuable pieces?
I have a cotton headscarf from the 1958 World Cup. My dad was in the navy football team that some of the FA were watching while they were in port (he was offered terms with Southampton and turned them down!). They asked if they were going to the game and said no. The officers had kept the tickets sent to the ship. The FA arranged tickets for the players and dad was sat in front of the royal box watching the Wales game - clear enough for my mum to see at home.
My most treasured Reading ones are my Steve Death testimonial football signed by all the Reading players after the game, and a series of pictures that were taken in the dressing room after promotion. They needed a colour film and we were stood their with my ME Super. Unfortunately Mr S&R was asked into the dressing room - not me being a girlie! My Simod Cup victory video where I am clearly seen as we lift the trophy is pretty good! I did have a tuft of Elm Park turf - until Mr S&R .....(we won't go into that!).
Have Dave Rocastles shirt from Arsenal used for the team photos and a nice picture and note he sent me to say thanks for helping out with his video launch. Obviously a tinge of sadness linked to that one too.
Oddly I love the old programmes that had the likes of Vinny Jones playing against Reading for Wealdstone in the FAC (he was sent off!), Ian Rush for Chester etc.

I have a football at home signed by the 87-88 town team. The football has the old shrews badge on it also.
Not sure how much it would go for on ebay, but I will never want to find out.

As a relative youngster in the world of football supporters I have nothing from earlier than the early 90's. However, since then I've aqquired Joblings ( ) shirt from the great escape season, Wayne Thomas's shorts from the following season, Leon Drysdales home shirt from last season and JVB's red shirt (again ) from last season. My favourite Town item is a signed STFC football from the 93/94 championship winning season

From my old family stand days I have many programs with autographs on them – highlights include the Liverpool game – Rush, Folwer and others and the Blackburn game with pretty much all the subs. Tones of town ones – in fact I have pretty much every program home and away from the last 4 years (bar one the Carlslie aws away game last year) and all the home ones from the 7-8 years prior to that. Also a nice collection of showpiece final programmes FA cup, Playoff finals, AWS, Coca Cola cup, Engalnd. Also lots of Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea, Cheltenham and West Brom
As for memorabilia – A signed ball from 98 and one from the losers of last year 3 weeks before the end of the season (I still cant look at fatty Redmiles autograph)
And the top piece in my collection – at the last home game of last season I grabbed Lukes match used shirt that he threw in the crowd.
A really cool thing I did this year was to collect all the tickets out the programs and do a collage type thing in a big picture frame, and put it on my wall. Its got some classics, the AWS final, last league game, Carslie game that never was, Liverpool vs Shrewsbury, Shrews ECF (great escape), The over sold Rushden game of 3 years ago, Stevenage red paper effort this year, Everton and Chelsea cup run tickets, the liverpool 4- 3 newcastle game and many others.
The only way any of this will ever be auctioned is if I need some life saving operation!!!!

My dad has a program from the world cup final game, but i suppose that isnt mine.
I too got my dad that Arthur Rowley book JP, just wish I'd gone and got it signed.
I have a few odds and ends, signed programs (i still cant spell!), a frammed collage type thing of signed villa pictures (Bryan Little era) a signed villa football (Big Ron era),two signed Town shirts (Bryan gayle era and this season).
The signed Eagle shirt (his home one that he wore in his last season) is pretty special,
however the most special things to me I think are, the Exeter program (Great escape) with the ticket stapled in and a program from when we played chester away a number of years ago (I sat next to Bomber, and he gave me his ticket and signed my program). As well as the Rochdale and Macclesfield program(s) I have from last year (for personal reasons)

I had a bruise on my left eye circa 1981 inflicted at Lime Street station versus Everton. Fortunately the bruise faded unlike the memory.

I have loads of stuff Got cotton handkerchiefs for each team in the 1931 cup final with picture of each squad (West Brom and Brum) printed on, plus another for Villa in 30-31 season. Also loads of team picture/postcards from 1910's, 20's and 30's a hardback book for 50 years of the football league, a souvenire FA Cup annual celebrating 50 years of the cup in 1935. Also got both progs for Spurs city 100th Cup final in 81 and the last England v krauts at wembley with ticket stub (sat 3 seats away from Mr Ratcliffe in my Town shirt and he ignored me!!!...W*nker!!) plus loads of other cup final programmes and various other bits and bobs. I could open a shop and rival shakey!!! ;D I guess the handkerchiefs are most treasured as so old and delicate even though not Town related!! I think the future Mrs wants me to get rid of the large programme collection when we get married next year ....NO BLOODY CHANCE. I'm planning on turning the third bed in to a footie memrobilia/Town shrine/ study. She doesn't know yet!

I have over the years collected a few autographs. Got Arthur Rowleys on his Testimonial programme v Wolves, Pele, George Best, Cryuff and Maradona.
Got hold of a few bits of Town stuff, including a fully signed Wembley programme from 96 and a replica shirt fully signed by the 94 Championship team. They have great personal value.
Talking of Town stuff and the mention of Shakey's shop, i popped in there Saturday and walked out with a wonderful framed montage signed by Nigel Jemson of the FA Cup win over Everton. Will be going back in to get the Town's league era montage next week signed by two. They are both excellent pieces a great investment i would like to think.
