if funds were not an issue and they were available, which player from the England team on show last night would you buy for the Town ? Who would have the most to contribute to this season of mediocrity?

The Lad Rosco Desane from Shots - i was well impressed with him - i know we dont need another striker but i think he would be ahead of all but Luke to start if he were at our club. And i never wanted him to leave but i still think K Murrey is a class player - that shot that hit the bar was ace and he was solid enough in midfield and missed a good headed chance!

Little nippy lad up front, number 11.
Set up the goal, looked constantly dangerous against some class defenders and did some great link up play.
Full of confidence the lad was.
He could make a real difference to our season.

No doubt - little number 5 at left back (Perkins at Morecambe ?)

I thought Gareth Sheldon from Exeter had a good game and that Number 11 was pretty good aswell...
Murray ran the game and D'sane was also very inpressive.

Murray did look confident from getting regularly picked but he had enough chances with us- sometimes its just best for both parties

Thought Perkins the left-back from Morecambe was sheer class everyone around us said he would be the answer to our prayers in that position for us, my MOM defo, thought Sheldon & Karl Murray were v good plus D'Sane looked a handful even if his touch was a bit wayward at times, but Perkins oh yes and even timed perfectly with Rioch's transfer-listing.......go on Jimmy buy him!!!!!!

You lot are having a laugh ain'tcha? Perkins is not that good a left back, how many times did he waste balls and get caught in possession? Oh and that headed back pass! even Rioch wouldn't have been stupid enough to try that on that pitch last night Scoot the last time you saw a decent left back was 25 years ago can you remember his name (and no it wasn't me)

Left back has never been a strong point, and I don't think you mean Charlie Wilde, so it must be Gary Burroughs, even if he did play up front after he left us.

Murray, number 6, rodgers as he waslast night (fire dup, suoperb, but not too agressive) and the 4th official - think i recognise him from reffing ehre before this season, but he was good when he came on, and didnt just ignore the crowd which was nice that he didnt go overboard, just a bit sheepish!

perkins On the basis that we have enough forwards the England no 7. He would slot in nicely aongside Tolley or Edwards.

I always believe that a full-back needs to be fairly tall so that he can defend the far post comfortably in the air. The left back last night was far too short. Best players on the night for England were Murray, Rogers & Adam Miller.

No 5 perkins. had plenty of zip and fight in him. if we could have him linking up with Sam it'd be interesting and certainly creative.

As a Shots supporter who came to the game last night, it was my first visit to Gay Meadow since February 1979 - almost exactly 25 years ago. Now, can any of you remember the occasion of that visit? BTW it hasn't changed much has it? (not a criticism, just an observation.) Thanks for the kind comments about D'Sane, Challinor and Miller. Funny, but true, I was saying to a fellow Shots supporter that I hope Luke Rodgers doesn't play as well against us next week! Also, on the evidence of last night, I'm surprised you let Karl Murray go. But most of all, like a few of your lot, I was most impressed with Perkins, and despite conceding 4 goals, I thought Danny Collins looked classy. In fact, most of the squad acquitted themselves well and wouldn't look out of place at a higher level. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, apart from the cynical parts of the Italian game. Looking forward to seeing you all next week - good luck after next Tuesday.
