Don't ask me i'm feckin' useless at it....guess it's realistic though...Salop finished bottom of Div 3.
Decided to start again as Arsenal manager and bought Tolley for 7million and Rogers for 2 million for a laugh...Tolley was injured for 12 months in first days training....not surprisingly i got sacked after 6 months......
Can someone help me too....please!!!

2 choices you either dive straight in a play half a season and get the sack because you can't win or spend ages pre season sorting out a decent squad (this doesn't guarantee success either) go for the first option we all did

Firstly, download the latest patch.
Then the absolute best thing you can do is use the editor. I added in Duane Darby and edited down the wages of a few players (no way Cramb is on £2.1k a week). That way I found it much easier to balance the budget and raise the cash to bring in a few new players when needed.
In my game it's 2006/2007. I won the Conference without buying a single player in my first season, but I had a mass clearance at the end. Dave Edwards went for £250,000 to Crewe + addons. Then I bought Alex Notman from Norwich for £40k, he and Luke scored 70 goals between them (Darby chipped in with 15 from the subs bench) and I finished third in the Third Division. Second Division was tough at first, but I managed to bring in Patrick Mboma (!) and Leigertwood (from Wimbledon) and I missed out on the play-offs by only 3 points. Now I just started the new season with a 3-1 win against Tranmere, am regularly filling the Meadow and have £2 million in the bank.
So I cheated a little bit at the start, but I've enjoyed the game much more because of it.
My formation is:
------FC----- FC-----
ML-----MC--^-----MR ------------/----------- ----------DM----------
DL-----DC----DC----DR
-----------GK----------
Mentality: Attacking. Counter-Attack: On. Closing Down: Own Half only. It has served me well so far.
So tips: editor or no, balancing the budget is important. Try to get rid of the older or more costly players (cramb, quinn) and hammer out new contracts by offering reduced wages for players but with big signing bonuses. If you're bringing in more money than you're spending on wages then you can't go wrong. If you have good youngsters - which seems to be pot luck - then drive their prices up (through negotiation) and look for at least 30% of future transfer fees. Don't let your player's condition get below 60% during games. Trial and error is the easiest way to be succesful. Phew.
Good luck!
