We won 2-1 thanks to goals from Stu Dunn and Carl Blakemore.
All in all an excellent battling display in adverse weather conditions.

yup, thouroughly deserved the victory and should have wrapped it up sooner in the second half with the chances we had.
The defence were very stalwart and reduced Tamworth to only a couple of chance.
My men of the match were Tim Williams and Carl Blakemore.

If only the results of the 1st team would run in parallel to the asfc.

Yep, I'd quite happily see the ASFC get beaten every week if it meant the first team won

A very good game to be involved in. And it was good to be back playing some form of competitive match. I thought everyone had a good game and i was very pleased with our defence. They certainly stayed solid throughout the game.
I definetly agree with our MOM. Tim had a fantastic game considering he doesnt usually play at left back. Hopefully we can continue the way we play and get a good run going.
Is there any news on the next game?

Yup, it was a good workman-like victory with plenty of effort from all concerned- it's just a shame were going to have to wait a couple of weeks for our next game I hope I didn't let anyone down with my 'altercation' with the Tamworth player yesterday- it could have turned a bit nasty (after he called me Welsh ) but I think the game finished well in good sprits. Good work lads, let's keep it up!

Our next definite game is at home to Burton, we're trying to sort this out now but I don't think it would be a problem.
I very much doubt we could have a game at Margate on a Sunday morning - but what do people think?

Agreed - we thoroughly deserved our win - Gal had a very good game and I thought the back four were very good and solid all game. Ant did well out wide as well...

Enjoyed the game, it was good to get back into competitive action again. The whole team played well and we deserved the win. The defence was well organised and communicated well.
With regard to our next game i thought Gaffer mentioned that we would have a game aginst Telford at Meole school astro pitches, is this true or is it still to be confirmed?

I've heard absolutely nothing about a possible game with Telford but need to know soon so I can book train tickets from the smoke if there is a game...

I spoke to Wynnie last night and he confirmed that no game had been arranged for the Telford date.

Watching the game on the sidelines, I really enjoyed it despite the weather. We were well worth the win, even if we did leave it till 2 minutes from time!
As regards future games, just a reminder lads that I am no longer organising them. After 10 years I'm having a well earned rest.
Ant has agreed to sort out the arranging and I will help him if and when needed.
As he says, we spoke on the phone last night and agreed it probably wasn't worth trying to organise a game against Telford, given the time of year an that it's a mid week game.
We also felt that with Margate now being a Sunday it wasn't worth pursuing due to Sunday League football.

Huh?? I havnt said anything about us playing Telford at Meole. All i said was that i wasnt sure if we had a game or not. Im the last person to tell everyone if we've got a game or not. Its Ant or Wynnie who announces any games, not me.
The only thing about Meole astro turf that was mentioned was our 5 a side on a sunday afternoon. Thats where we are playing this sunday due to the London Road sports hall is double booked.
I hope this has cleared everything.

Just to keep you informed, Carl Blakemore scored a header from a corner on Sunday. Copthorne Athletic won 5-3, mainly due to Tommy Johnson (the son of Full of Bull) who scored 3 and took the corner.
Btw, there is no Sunday League football in Shrewsbury on Dec 14, they finish on the 7th until 11th Jan, but there may be in Margate.
Fancy a friendly on Sunday 4 Jan, if there are enough of you staying in Town, and if Changing Rooms available ?

Would love a friendly then Scoot but problem is we're away at Dagenham previous day so the exiles are likely to be away - but maybe we could get a team together anyway?
