I try to be a "real" supporter as much as I can- not easy to get to matches- but it may get easier if I gradually retire in easy stages- work less Saturdays..etc... (But then I'd have less money I can't win!) I am a member of Super Blues- but that's hardly putting big bucks into the STFC bank account. I thought that- if they did have "half season" tickets- or "blocks" of tickets you could buy in advance. It would mean people like me pay up front- the club would get the money whether or not we could always get to the matches we'd paid for. (But it would be an incentive to pull out all the stops to get there, anyway!) I haven't filled in the questionnaire yet- but it's mainly about away support. Would it be worth sending it anyway- and stating the case for half season tickets- or an option to buy a block of tickets in advance- in the space provided for any other comments?

As someone who attends the Ticketing Group meetings I can say we are always pleased to have fans input on anything to do with Ticket Prices, Season Tickets, Block Tickets etc. The more input the better.
Whether or not the Club will take our suggestions on Board is another matter but we can but try !
Please feel free to e-mail the Ticketing Group on
ticket_salop@yahoo.co.uk
or alternatively via a Message on the Board.

Half/Block season tickets have been suggested to the club for the past 4 seasons. Repeatedly they refuse to introduce a scheme of this nature. Their explanation is that they tried it in 2000/01 and it was not a success. In fact what they tried was a season ticket for all remaining matches after several games had been postponed due to the weather. Support on this board has suggested that there is substantial interest in half season tickets from exiled supporters and locals who have work/family commitments and are unable to get to every game. Other clubs do it and find it easy to administer but I guess we should bow to the superior marketing/customer care skillls of STFC; after all their general organisation is well on the way to achieving the Chairman's aim of getting us in to the West Midland league!

Thanks for the link, Herefordshrew- and the info, picken. I'll contact them, anyway. If there's enough enquiries, besides mine- maybe they'll think about it again. I can't really see the problem. You pay up front- and they gain from it. Why disregard an idea that will bring in more money for them? What's so difficult about the administation? It's worth a try anyway.
