Well done old lad.
In a similar show of generosity, Dennis Wise has agreed not to use any taxis in telford tomorrow. Thats probably worth the same amount in monetary terms!

Wait a minute it might seem generous offer , but earlier in the week the S'Boro chairman was asking Roman to wave the gate money S'boro would have to give to Chelsea which is more than £60,000. Not such a generous offer after all from Roman IMO.

Its generous alright. But its hardly more than Roman's pocket change. Lets not get carried away.

Not such a generous offer after all from Roman IMO. The point is, he didn't have to do it at all. Let's not victimise him just because he's rich. It is a nice gesture and I'm sure well appreciated by Scarboro. I've actually been quite impressed by the way he has run Chelsea. The players the club have aquired have either been world-class foreigners or up-and-coming British youngsters. This is good for the game in our country, far better than the Chelsea side under Vialli that was packed with journeymen continentals that were stifling the opportunities for home-grown talent.

Gota agree Chris - Roman has been give a lot of crap of press and by the other fans in the prem but he has only ever acted with the good of the Uk game and of course Chelsea with every deal that has been conduted.
HE could easily have told Cladio to go out and buy the best central midfeilder in the World but they are after Scot Parker one of Englands most promising player
Fair play to him for the gesture, who ever is manageing his PR in the UK is doing a good job

So Roman gives them £25,000 but pockets an additional £35,000+ , does the guy need the money ? If it's such a great gesture why not let them keep the gate money instead would'nt that prove to be a greater gesture.

I find this all a bit strange Telford - He could take all the 60k but effectivly give a conference team 25k for nout. What a git!!!!!
Anyway whos to say he will not refuce the gate money??? also would you want a club like scarboro getting close to 100k for nothing - i would not its only going to make the league harder for us next year - so 25k is enough to help them but not cause us and the rest of the league problems - so hes spot on in my eyes

The initial point i am making is that he 's being looked on as an ambassador for giving the non league side £25,000, he's never announced he's not going to take the gate money of £35,000+ though

generous my arse. It's absolute peanuts to a man like Abromovich and should be seen for what it is. A cheap publicity stunt that is typical of the patronising way that real football is treated by those premiership ponces. I remember going to Stamford Bridge when it was a tip and there were only 12000 watching the game, including 1000 Town fans. They've come along way in a short time and should remember their bad times. I hope Chelsea win F*ck all
