The Umbrella Group - Commercial Working Group are hoping in conjunction with STFC, to launch a Retro Shirt from the mid seventies. A colour photo of the kit can be seen at Matt Ashton's excellent website homepages.nildram.co.uk/~matta/townkits.htmlMatt of course apart from being a loyal Town fan is an international photographer of some repute, and as well as doing footbal, could do weddings, arty shots, catalogues etc, so give the bloke a mail I'm saying, keep him in beans, then he wont b******k me for using his website. The kit we want to do is the one first worn in season 71/2 and remained the same virtually up until 77/8 ( Umbro added some diamonds in 77/8). It was the kit worn during the Durban era, when we gained promotion from the old Division Four, and had a number of new misses to Division Two. It was also worn by Alf Wood, Jim Holton etc. Please reply to the thread if you would be interested. We need to know numbers. Can I ask just to express an interest yes or no, rather than having a discussion about it. Start a new thread on that subject if you wouldby all means. Just need to know what numbers just to make it viable. Ta Ade Plimmer

Yes. But the photos of that strip are only black and white. There's a demand for it Ade - no fears about that.

so did you take those pictures in the 70s then matt? that's a bit young for you to be taking official team photos or am i missing something - were you down there with your instamatic? do you own the rights to all stfc photographs *ever*??

Those photos look like early 70s rather than mid.
At a guess the lower one is the earlier season? The filled in triangle of the collar is a different shape to the top one - longer. The top one is more like what I had in mind.
Looks better with amber shorts.

Definitely, it's my favourite all-time Town kit As Sean says it looks better with the amber shorts, i'd like to see us back in that kit again one day I'll have one, with a no. 4 on the back for Alan Durban

Personally no, but like Phil said it would be a huge success no question. I would love a re-commission of the scrambled egg design, I know most fans hate it but it's always been a fave of mine, and I lost my original on holiday in New York

Definately, as long as the badge is more authentic looking than the amber toffs effort (although i do own one)
