Rowley Park or Rowley Stadium or Rowley's Meadow would all be fine with me. It's got to be something to do with 'Sir' Arthur hasn't it? ! ?

Id say...
make the new stadium the New Meadow
BUT ... dont use Ottley Road in the address.
So hopefully soon the new address would be..
Shrewsbury Town FC The New Meadow Rowley Park Shrewsbury
name the whole area of the site after King Arthur. Mr Rowleys was never one for personal acclaim, but naming the site after him is enough... with a nice bronze statue of this man who was never properly recongised in the game for his achievements

agree with that.
its too easy to dish out accolades (OBE's etc) to players playing in the modern era....Beckham etc.
A Bronze statue of the Great Man, crafted by the hands of a Shropshire artist would be great for the NM. I mean Rowley Park...whatever!

You missed the possibility of the "Ratcliffe Arena" a sure-fire winner that!

Schizo - I own the www.rowleypark.co.uk web address, I will launch the campaign when construction starts, as there are plenty of other things at the moment that need the attention of shrews fans.

in honour of all those tory politicians who strove so hard for the new ground we have to call it "The Nutting Ground" after the esteemed leader of the council. I'll get me coat and not trouble you all again!!!!!!

I think it would be terrible if we didn't in some way celebrate that the great man played for the Town!! And what better way than to call the ground after him!
I rather like Mattsnappers idea, thats good that...call the ground New Meadow but the whole location Rowley Park as, I understand, there will be more than just the new ground located there, yeah?
Then supporters could use either or both names for the ground...
Defo like the idea of a statue as well...

Rowley Park, without a doubt. Otherwise, it would have to be The Eternal Stadium, due to our councillors taking an eternity to allow us to progress.

I'm with Matt The New Meadow Rowley Park Shrewsbury that way people who wanted to call it New Meadow could, and those that wanted to call it Rowley Park....could as well!! As for the longevity of the word NEW, it doesn't seemed to have hindered Barcelona much. or New York for that matter..! ;D

we definitely have to keep the word 'meadow' in there somewhere while not neglecting mr rowley(who was not exactly a one-club man was he? leicester have as much claim to him being their legend as us - perhaps even more so since he scored more goals for them don't forget. 265 for LCFC; 434 in career). anyway it was chic bates who led us to our finest hour (8th in the old 2nd division), and graham turner who us up in '79, so they're contenders for naming as well... basically just call it the 'meadow'. it's a unique name that is unique to this football club. no one else has a meadow - but arthur rowley played for other clubs. no disrespect to the guy by the way.
