.......sorry if this is being repeated but i was baffled on his answer to question 4, re:playing himself,he states he will only play if we have injuries, i seem to remember him playing himself from the start when we had fit players on the bench? He will only play himself until Luke returns (he's played in front of him before hasn't he?)
He'll only play if we have injuries (we had 4 fit stikers on Saturday)
He'll only play until we sign a target man (we signed Duane Darby).
etc. etc.

I was less than impressed with his answer either saying he'd have no need to play himself once Luke returned.
So what about when a striker picks up a niggling injury or a 1 match ban?
Have we seen the last of JQ as a player? I wish, but it looks unlikely.
Please see where you are going wrong JQ and concentrate on managing.

I have to admit I don't mind Jimmy bringing himself on if he does a better job than the strikers he's brought. Confused? He's my explanation...
Jimmy on average wins more balls in the air than Derby or Cramb put together, both of which are ment to be our target men. His passing is also better than both Derby and Cramb because he does the simple things right, both Derby and Cramb over elaborate at times which very often leads to us loseing possesion.
He drags defenders away, he winds up defences and he causes's trouble- not bad for 44 year old. He's an old fashioned centre forward and he wants a strong strikeforce to cause trouble and all he is getting is pretty footballers playing pretty football. He wants Cramb and Derby to play like animals and at the moment they are not doing the jobs he asking them to, hence why he is playing himself.
I don't want to see Quinny playing, I would much prefer a Cramb/Rodgers partnership but the old dog is doing the simple things right.
Am I the only one thinking this? Am I Mad?

If it was a footballing issue and a footballing issue only True_Shrew then your points would be valid.
But it's not.
At a recent Q&A session at the Meadow the club captain admitted that playing himself, JQ was affecting other player's morale. He also said it was affecting JQ's managerial skills too.
JQ is here to manage and such should be his main priority. With 3 fit strikers now he should be on the bench and concentrating on his primary objective.

Gravesend away comes to mind when he started with DD, Luke on the bench.
Margate away,Banim was raring to go.
I'm not against him coming on last 10 mins or so if a games won ,and then give a front man a rest to avoid a late injury or silly booking.
