We are one of the three teams in the conference over our salary cap and the FA say we nned to reduce our wages. Chester are another. Looks like Rodgers is on his way.

Salary cap goes on turnover from previous season. We made loads of money last year from the cup run, I'm confident we'll be fine.
Chester and Telford I would imagine are teams who may be investigated.

It's nothing to do with the FA is it?
Thought it was a Conference only rule.

The Conference have no idea of clubs financial status however they may have requested a meeting because they are aware it is likely we have a large wagebill. I know fans have their own sources and I believe mine to be reliable which is a) STFC only expected to sell a quarter of season tickets that it actually sold. b) STFC budgeted for this season that we would get gates of less than 3000 c) The wage bill was proportioned to the above d) because the gates have been better than expected the wage bill has been allowed to go slightly over the original budget e) Taking into account all of the above, STFC are actually making money from the gate receipts and have never been in a healthier state Finally you never reveal your sources so don't ask but e is definately true.

Strange how these sort of comments come from guests!!!
I have heard that these rules do not apply to us anyway as we were not in conference last year. Is this true?

So Rob does that mean that the wage bill has gone down, I thought someone said on here that the wage bill had gone up - was it a shareholder who'd seen the latest accounts?
I always remember that before the Cup run we spent one of the largest proportions of our turnover on player wages in the third division. I don't see that massively changing, especially as we seem to attract players who are being courted by League teams.

Quinn must be the highest paid surely ,managers wage plus players wage. Quinn must go.

The salary spend on ALL staff was 65% of turnover (2.25M) in the financial year to end of May 2003 - pre Quinn - including a playing staff of 41. That would include pensions and national insurance too.

The salary increase will be Ian Whitfield then.
And wasn't there something about a hole in the pension fund a few years ago?

Salary increased by over £200K to year ending 31 May 2003, and Keith Sayfritz stated in December that our playing budget had increased this season.
That was before Jody Banim came in as well I think?

I'm not worried that we are over the salary cap because i think Mr Wycherly is too astute to let the club do this, however if i am wrong major questions would need to be asked.

Enough I can say quite categorically that the club is NOT being investigated, how do I know, easy I asked, that simple…. And no I didn't ask Whitters.
