He's a politician, it's a contradiction.
They are as consistent as conference referees!

As much as I'm trying to let me heart rule me head over this, and as much as I have a general dislike for Tory Councillors (I work for a tory run local authority too!!!) there's absolutely nothing within his letter that I actually disagree with. To expect the local council to pay way way over the odds for The Gay Meadow is just plain ludicrous, however much I wish they would!!

So that is why a dvelopers has offered us £10 million for GM?
Albie is missing the point. You pay £14 million for the land at Gay Meadow and Oteley Road. You then do what you wish. The council could seel it off in years to come and make a huge profit.
But hah, they don't see that. Because Mr Fox is sxcared that if he *es off his electors in Sutton he'll get voted out. Maybe he ought to wonder what will happen if all those pro NM and pro STFC voted him out come May!
The other thing is that rumours are circulating about the council building a 6000 stadium which they will lease to us. So one minute they are saying, we cant spend money on STFC, then all of a sudden they can.
The other thing is of course, if the Dunedin deal had gone through, they would have had to have spent £15 million to sweeten the deal. The only difference between the Dunedin and the deal discussed before Xmas was that Dunedin were no longer part of the deal. So what is the difference betwen giving Dunedin £15 million, and us £14 million?

ummmmm Tory Boy, more like Misinformed Boy!
£14 million was for the Gay Meadow AND 30 odd acres at the New Meadow.
FACT: a £10 million plus bid has been made for the Gay Meadow ONLY. I think it reasonable that the New Meadow land should cost about £4. Do you think those making the offer for the GM would have not done extensive research on the value of GM?. Of course they have.
As for the flooding the Environment Agency (who adivse the Council on such matters and are expects in Flood Rsik Assestments, unlike Fox whos talking out of his bottom) have NO OBJECTIONS in principle to the redevelopemnt of the Gay Meadow.

Albie Fox is two faced. In the past he has stated categorically that the club needs to move.
Tories - they just make me laugh.

Albie Fox is two faced. In the past he has stated categorically that the club needs to move. Which probably means he had a deal set up with Milton Keynes until Wimbledon moved there ;D

When I lived in Market Drayton, as a young lass, they had a saying about the Tories- " Put a pig up with a Blue rosette on it and it would get elected!!!" Oink! Oink! They're making about as much sense, aren't they?

Up Sundorne, 6000 seater, owned by the council. But basically as long as its no where near his residence he doesnt care..a neighbour of mine just happened to talk to him the other day.

Interesting quote; Mill also said "Every great movement must experience three stages: ridicule, discussion, adoption." So on that basis we will get the New Meadow!(eventually!)
