Realistically, does anybody believe that we can bounce staight back this season, or do you think that Chester and Hereford seem the most likely for promotion this season? If we play like we can and did again'st Hereford, then we stand a decent chance in the Playoffs???

I can see it being between us and the Bulls in the Play-offs, with Chester going up automatically.

Not 2sure bout us this season, but definately next year. Don't think that Chester or 'Parryless' Hereford have sufficient pedigree for the third division!!!

This is how I see it: This season we have won games easily, be it 2-0 or 1-0, we havent really been under a great deal of pressure and so the players have gone into games thinking this is a forgone conclusion and not got out of 1st gear. So the Dagenham game has always been on the cards. If the players can sort the attitude out we still have a chance of top spot and if we are unable to get it we should be able to get the play off win.

i Must agree with you there. There is still a long way to go, and i can see Chester going into free fall, so there is still an outside chance that we can nick top spot. I think that Barnet are a good bet for the play offs.

Anyone who has seen Chester's run in will realise that they are far from Champions yet. In their last 8 games (I think) they have to play all of the top 7 in consecutive matches. If they are still top at the end of that run then they will defo deserve it IMHO.
So, it is still not done and dusted. We will have to be winning games with far more consistency than we have up to now to finish top though.
Play Offs at best - then it's a complete lottery from four teams. May as well draw them out of a hat.

I wont write off Salop just yet i think we are more than capable of stringing a long un-beaten run together, and if we are within a couple of points of Chester by the time they come to the meadow, im sure i will not be the only 1 who'll shout alittle louder and see certain people from Chester(P.A. announcer sarcastic runt) go crawling back up from where-ever they come from with there tail between there legs. (Im usually a placid, non confrontational character but after the Chester game even i was p**sed off with our treatment)

Going on the games i have seen the best 2 sides in the league are Hereford and Barnet, but as i have only seen them once each it is hard to tell.

the best 2 sides apart from Hereford ,and discounting salop because we were awfull when we played you, would be aldershot and exeter, but aldershot suffer from a total lack of dicipline and thids will fail them in the end and exeter have the points deduction matter to contend with.

I like Kickinpretty's confidence, lets see if he will be right....
Personally I think we're too inconsistent to win the Conference, we couldnt win at the likes of Leigh and Tamworth whereas Chester did with some ease, however if Chester are to suffer a 'inconsistency patch' then they've yet to suffer it....

Chester have a hard run in but their next 3 games are easy on paper so they could be out of our reach come February. I still fancy us for a play-off place- we have had some poor results but at home we have been consistent and we have a couple of Gay Meadow games in hand on the teams above us. If we could thrash someone soooooooon it would show the league we really mean business!

Hopefully, in the play offs Hereford beat Barnet home and away and then we beat hereford in the final :-)
I'm not so sure about barnet, tough team to beat. if we are well up for it and play good football then i'd say we stand a good chance.

Altough i accept chester have a difficult run in i think they will go up as champions. As for the shrews will be down to play offs, and they will get to play off final against hereford. As for the result? ?

Don't forget that Chester will be looking forward to playing at Gay Meadow too....afterall it used to be the place we could never win at until our last visit.
It seems to me that there will be a lot of rich bookies in Shrewsbury soon but only time will tell.

slim chance of championship, (2 games in hand and we've got to play them which gives us our slim chance I think) but realistically play offs at best - think on our day we should do it via the playoffs....

Exactly. If we make the play-offs which I fully expect us to do, then we have the players to blow anyone away on our day, which under the circumstances you'd expect them to be up for it. We should be good enough to be able to focuss on our own strenghs without worrying about the oppositions.
