...I heard that Jennings Homes are the interested buyer of Gay Meadow and that everything is on its way to being pretty much wrapped up.
I also heard that the club/Alaska has untill April to buy the land at Otley Road before agreements made with the land owner expire and he can then force up the price for the land, this may spell the end of the entire development if things arent dealt with soon and the land purchased from the landowner.
Anyone else heard these stories or others?

surely if people had heard anything about a very very important deal to the football club we wouldn't post confidential information on a public messageboard, which is read by the papers
whatever you have or haven't heard on the grapevine may or may not be true, but here is not the place to discuss private information that cannot be disclosed for legal reasons
i don't know who put the £10 million bid in, but someone did, and that is all we know. if anything else was public information they would have told us. until they do i don't think we should enter into as discussion here, because whether what we know is true or not it could make the papers and scupper the deal
the worst thing would be to upset alaska, who still own the rights for the land

I would say that the fact that i have heard about it, it isnt confidential and i would also say that anything that is in the public domain and has not been said in confidence can and should be discussed/ aired on places such as this where people have a direct interest in the future of STFC.
As you have refrained from posting under a username and have not registered then can we take it that you are somebody connected to STFC/Alaska or Jennings Homes as you seem very defensive over the details of my post?
If Jennings homes are indeed the potential buyers of Gay Meadow then do you honestly think that a story in the papers would be likely to scupper the deal? Tell me why this will be the case?

I believe that if the Board of Directors wished this information to be made public, they would have told us. Obviously, some negotiations are currently going on, with parties, unknown to we fans, but any speculation, is surely just that. If, and when the club feel that they can give us further information, then I am sure that they will. In the meantime, I feel that we must put our trust in the Directors, to do whatever is right, for the long term future of Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

kickingprettys perfectly entitled to address the issue on this site, thats what its for, Discussion amongst supporters. If we stopped all the gossip and rumour the pages would be all the weaker. All so we have a right to know whats going on, both as fans and as residents of the town. I will say it again, Alaska have some explaining to do, they make the opponents to a new meadow all the stronger because of their shadowy behaviour in this episode

What happens if the club kick up a stink and want this "gossip" to stop, you could end up with a situation like the Canvey website that was closed down after the club threatened to ban the owners of that website from watching their team. You always think it'll never happen untill it does

Then it would lead me to think that it might be time for a revolt.
Whilst our board have been good at keeping us finacialy viable (or so we are led to believe) they have also reigned over our greatest demise, and I'm sure they realise that they are lucky not to have been hounded out the club.
If they did this I would take it as a sign that our support for the club, our away following, our increased attendances, our buying of this crap kit our patience was just not appreciated, and thus we would have to act, have remove these buggers from power, one way or another.

If the information is true, then the offical who leaked the information is at fault and no one else. At the end of the day the majority of Town fans can't wait to know whats happening and are fed up of being kept in the dark.
Thanks for the info Kicken, if you here anything else....... spread the word ;D
